I saw one running at my the new local track, and it handled very well (it's a pretty rough track). The guy was almost clearing a large triple that the 1/8 nitro buggies didn't even attempt (but my electric 1/8 buggy cleared it ;)). The only bad thing I noticed about it is that the guy landed on the wing, and snapped the wing mounts off the shock tower. If I remember correctly, it didn't even seem to be a very harsh landing (I've done worse with my buggy).

You think it may have a weak wing mount. Maybe that was not the first time though. Hmmm. It makes me wonder. I could convert it to brushless. Then it would clear that triple to like you metal man.

MetalMan 02.23.2006 10:12 PM

Of course it would :). Nitro just can't match the immediate acceleration of brushless...

i personally think the lightning stadium pro-r is among the best there is.

Handles like crap and the motor doesn't sound to good.

Ofcourse that's just a matter of tuning. As it is now I think the hellfire is a bit overpriced. We'll see how it does, just like the crt when it first came out.

A guy here did the same thing with the wing mounts on a jammin truggy.

Sneek. It seemed to run ok, maybe a little rich( by the smoke), but i'm not an expert I saw some tire growth so it wasn't far off

HotnCold 02.24.2006 05:54 AM

I agree - seemed a little rich - but its hard to tell with that rough azz track - thats their test track - not too impressive of a track IMO...

boss 302 02.24.2006 07:58 AM

it was definately running a little bit rich and the track looked horrible imo

coolhandcountry 02.24.2006 10:32 AM

It was a touch rich. I had the same problem with savage. I think it don't look bad. I think it would have did better with a thicker oil in the center diff.
The track did look rough. I would be more impressive with a brushless.

Whats this BPP chassis you are talking about? Is that BombProof Products? Or links?

squeeforever 02.24.2006 03:48 PM

coolhandcountry 02.24.2006 04:29 PM

Don't that run the maxx suspension squee?

squeeforever 02.24.2006 04:40 PM

nope. it uses everything off of a lightning stadium. front/rear ends and all...

coolhandcountry 02.24.2006 04:52 PM

Oh okay. I was thinking of the one you had. Sorry. Keep me straight squee. :D You got a link to it.
