At second look there is no real material to mount in due to the cutouts in the bottom plate.

Me thinks this is the best answer.

I do like the cleanliness and simple design. I will hit Mike up and see what's up. This would be my 3rd rcm mount and I have to say that I have been quite impressed with his product. I especially liked his 808 mount with the 2 piece design.

I am scratching the changing of the flux motor. Still considering the XL conversion.

The MT is on the way and should be here tomarrow! I aksed him the question just to clarify that the Flux was NIB condition and came with all stuff that comes with stock...I said I only wondered b/c he said he was trying to locate a box. (FOR A WEEK.). He ignored me and gave me tracking saying it was on the way. He only lives like one state away. Anyway I will post a link to the listing now that I am confident the box is in route. I just dont like posting links until the transaction is complete.

If you look at the bottom you can see the front diff is leaking fluid...Thats it!!It's GOING BACK!!!! Bahahahahha!!:intello:DEF EXCITED:party:

Uh why?

The standard ones would have worked fine, although it probably helps to unglue them put some tape on the inside and reglue to keep down the ballooning that will happen (that applies to both sets). Both the Dirt Bonz and the GT2 tires that I tried on my RC8Te while waiting for some Badlands to come in both had serious ballooning issues and that was only on 4s.

The XL tire just has a larger sidewall and it is just going to balloon even more. Probably need to gear down a pinion tooth because of the larger size tires.

I remember when mine was that virgin clean and new. Didn't last long..... Oh and my diffs leaked too, there's only 1,000k weight in them which is way to light for the Flux. I would put some heavier oil in the diffs before you run it, I run 100k front/rear. And I agree with thzero, those XL tires are gonna strain your tranny, Lipos and ESC with a good chance of breaking them. Gear the pinion down to 18T or 16T

[QUOTE=thzero;337848]Uh why?

Just options is all. I will probably do a XL conversion soon enough....plus I am compulsive with RC stuff. Compulsive is kinda understating. Lots of my stuff works fine but it doesn't stop me.

thanks for the heads up on the fluids...cant believe they put 1k wt lol. Yup Minty Fresh is always nice!! Its Crispy!!

100k seems a bit excessive; don't even run that in my RC8Te's center diff; actually I run my RC8Te with 10/50/7 and have been running my nitro savage with 15/10 front/rear. The adjustment was made because the Savage is about 3 to 4 lbs heavier than the RC8Te.

The 'Triple Diff Basics' thread here at rc-monster is a good read. Just equate the gearbox/tranny in the Savage as a locked center diff for a 50/50 split of power.

As for the taping, since I mentioned it; I think Freezebyte said elsewhere he's using strapping tape, others use duct tape, I have been using Gorilla tape as its a bit heavier than duct tape. Just undo the tires, turn them inside out and run a strip of tape around the inside. It definetly helps.

As for an 'XL' conversion; you can certainly increase the width using the stock Savage XL parts (new dogbones, diff cups, axles, etc.) but you'll need a 3rd party set of TVPs for the Flux (unless Mike makes some that come in the XL length) along with the XL dogbone. Some of the 3rd party TVPs I've seen for the Flux don't always come in the same wheelbase as the XL, but usually come with the required rear dogbone.

My Flux is a basher and wall climber, so I don't need my wheels unloading on me, hence why I run 100k. I used strapping tape on my GT-S tires, I cleaned the insides of the tires throughly with rubbing alchohol though or the anti aging powder on the rubber keeps it from sticking.

Ah, I bash too... I just don't wall climb.

Thats actually a good Tip with the rubbing alcohol. I didnt use that with my xray when I did my strapping and they sound to be lifting a little inside when at speed.
