How do I open a neu motor? Took out the 4 screws but the rear seems glued.
|
Smack it with a mallet.

Hit the shaft at the front of the motor- that should pop the rear endbell off just like a feigao. Then again, you might punch the shaft out of the middle of the magnet- unlikely though, and you can just claim it happend while running the motor normally..

Wow seems that I will damage the motor if done wrongly.
Seems that neu motors has wires problems. I m thinking of tekin wo wires. |
The neu design is ment for helis & planes mainly, in those vehciles the motor wires arent subjected to forces manking them vibrate and wiggle up and down constantly- thats why castle took the design and changed it so that the wires dont/cant get damaged and short against the can.
You can always slide some insulation over the wires and into the can a little bit, that will prevent them shorting out- depends on if the enamel coating on the wires is also damaged & causing the individual strands to short against them selves in each main wire... |

Problem is I m using neu tekno square can meant for cars:( |
Meh- the only difference between that & a normal Neu is the shape of the can pretty much, no changes made to the way the wires exit the can, though the can is sealed better I must admit. I think your only real option at this point is to contact Neu, explain the issue & symptoms, and see what they quote you for repair; if it costs more than half the price of a new motor ( ~$140-150? ), then I wouldnt bother- you can get a Castleneu 1515 for $140 from Mike (kv rating choice is limited but there should be something suitable for you available)...
EDIT: 1515 3d = 1360kv, thats kinda low- maybe the 1512 1800kv motor would be good, if geared down, then it would have about the same torque & speed at the wheels; there are also various 1512 neu motors on sale on the neu website: http://www.neumotors.com/store/page10/page10.html |
