I'll trade you a nice piece of AL plate (not diamond) for a couple of those extra muggy diffs you have....

See the little icon next to "quote"? It has the two sheets of paper one on top of the other? Click that and it lights up red. That is the multiquote button. Click it on every post you want to quote, and it will list them in the order you click the buttons.

I gracefully decline, thanks anyway.

.

No prob, took me a while to figure it out myself. I ended up hovering over each icon to see what they all did.

Small revision, After getting the motor mount installed and working on getting the CD in I've noticed due to the motors diameter running anything less than a 12T pinion the center shafts are to close for my liking to the motor.
Sooo, Muggy diff ring and pinions are certainly in order.

lincpimp 01.13.2010 04:31 PM

You may also want to go to a larger spur gear...

Beleive me I do, But I have to have a plastic Spur and Losi only offers a 45T max. Open for other avenues ????

Using the calc with Muggy diff gearing,45/12 and the PL-tires speed will be 38mph.
When all assembled I will be able to get a 11T pinion in there with no issues and that will drop me down to 34mph if needed. I'd just rather have some extra room between the motor and axle.

Why plastic? My rrp 49t spur and rcm pinions like each other alot, very quiet and very durable. I used to stick with plastic, but for the heavier stuff metal is the way to go! I have the extra wide rrp spur.

I have a Lightning Stadium Pro2 that is one of my favorite bashers but metal on metal sounds horrible. Also tired of noobs asking "whats wrong w/your truck ?"
Wasn't aware of RRP made spur gears, DOH ! I will look into them if I'm not happy with final ratio. Thanks again.

Small Update

A little more progress this afternoon, Was able to drill holes and counter sink them all and install the CD and motor mount.
I know the top plate on the CD is rough, I will finish this later.

Now that these 2 peices are installed I can think ahead a little more about where battery,ESC,RX are going ?
These are a couple ideas I'm toying with, Any suggestions are always welcomed.

Anyone have a link or have knowledge of the Muggy Steering mod for the LST2 ??? It would be MUCH appreciated.

lincpimp 01.13.2010 07:01 PM

Ehh, look in my threads, it is under project x and not titled 6x6 but it is the 6x6 lst. I will find it later tonight when I have more time.

As for placement, you are going to want that battery up front... Too much rear weight and the handling will be crap. Maybe flip the chassis around so that the motor faces the other way?

Awesome idea James !
That might be what I'm looking for. I'll be experimenting with that tonight.
All I really have to do is drop out the steering assembly and swap ends with it and rebuild from there.

lincpimp 01.13.2010 10:37 PM

Glad I am good for something...

I've got the same thing in mind for my project, that's why I was asking about longer cvd's in another thread. Bondo is making his own cvd's but I was after an off the shelf item. When I get done I hope to have LCG and more weight over the front.... good for climbing lumps of dirt.
