Just looking for an honest veiw on the DM1 would anyone feel that the novak HV pro system would be good enuff for the convertion ? my DM1 will also sport the single speed and i was just thinking would mid 50's be out of reach for the novak system i want the car to be comparible to a DM1 with a 21 ninja , well a tad faster but i dont want the brute torque just the top end i do plan to race and felt the sensored motor make bring some benifits.

First off the dm-1 is a great car and depending on your gearing you should get about 55-60 with a 4s but since you changed to a single speed that means you probably have that 51 tooth spur cause I was about to switch to single but I really didn't want all those teeth in my spur. If I were you I probably would go with the mamba monster 2650 if you plan on running 4s..

I got my battery today and ordered another tray to house this huge thing.

I think I want to buy the tekno conversion kit for this. I like the lay out and width of that chassis. Any one need a motor mount and esc plate? probably the single speed as well. I talked to a tech @ tekno and I was told that the clutch was beneficial. It keeps temps down and no low end cogging like direct drive. Again.. this is what I was told. Oh also that the mechanical brake was better to use than the motor brake. A castle tech told me that as well about the brake set up. As you can see in the pick above that Neu Lipo is huge and i just want to house it properly.

Well I bought the Tekno kit from Nitro House. $119 was a good price to me.

The 2650kv is a nice motor.

Youll be able to gear for 60mph without troubles.

And paralyzed is right the solid center shaft will fit right on :)

How is your build coming along

fastlane01 01.24.2010 03:15 PM

good so far. Just waiting on parts now.

Jrock2310 01.24.2010 03:41 PM

Can someone tell me what's the purpose of the 2speed adaptor, is It just to keep from using a clutch bell

fastlane01 01.24.2010 04:30 PM

I think so. I will be using a clutch bell on mine. Supposed to eliminate low speed cog and keep temps down.
