well heres some pics of the electronics setup! let me know what you think! well if i get bored with this car and when i have some money i will do a build but make it into a race buggy like have 2x2s each side of the chassis and the esc somewhere and might try and put the motor facing forwards! that might be a while though

well heres a quick drawing of wat i mean of the chassis racing design

Aussie Nerd 02.19.2011 11:12 PM

Leave it how it is, the RCM mount was made to put the motor out the side for a reason. Oh and wiring thanks to me:mdr:

I want a motor mount soon. Also some of the plastic bits have a little play so might just replace them, or just bash until something breaks :mdr: For now just gotta clean up a little.

reno911 02.21.2011 02:40 PM

How is that servo working out?

Aussie Nerd 02.21.2011 08:21 PM

I'll answer for bundy since i've seen it in action. The servo does work well. It seems to be a nice balance between speed and torque for bashing. Its by no means the quickest or the strongests, but for $20 it seems to be fairly smooth without any glitches. Only thing is bundy's one will not work with FM radios, glitches like mad. 2.4 is perfectly fine though:yes:

I have the diff flipped around like that in my Jammin. Yes, the longer length 70-75mm motors are too long, you would need a more typical "buggy" sized motor, like 60-65mm. Aside from that you might need to put shims under the center diff mounts to add some clearance, as the spur will no longer be over the clearance hole cut in the chassis.

Honestly, I can't say how this setup compares to a single pack setup like you have it now, because both my buggy and truggy have always been saddle pack with the diff flipped around. But I have noticed a lot more vehicles using this setup now (Nexx8, Durango, Caster, HHH chassis for Hotbodies)
