I am hoping by then the deal GM made with the devil will have expired and all of the crap they have foisted on the American car buying public since 77 will magically disappear... A man can always dream.

If this sounds a bit harsh keep in mind I have painted 4 of Garbage Motors finest newer cars in the last week and none of the published paint codes came close to matching the actual color on the car. 2 yr old or newer, and they can't even get the right paint code on the build sticker. Crap, all crap. Plus GM are importing daewoo and sticking pontiac logos on them (G3)... Next thing you know they will partner with Diahatsu for a Hummer .273 (tiny turd based on those little trucks that service college campuses, etc.) And somehow make it get less than 15mpg... I wish Osama Bin Barack has flushed GM when he had the chance.

Gm has used daewoo cars in the past (think pontiac lemans). Ford does the same thing with kia (think aspire) And Dodge or Chrysler or whatever they are called now, does the same thing with mitsubishi, but that is common knowledge.

Of course Chrysler owns Mitsubishi so that's less surprising and Kia actually has been getting much better over the past year along with Hyundai. However Daewoo's are the biggest piles I have ever seen. Had one as a rental once that was supposed to be their top model, biggest pile of trash ever.

My brother has more issues with his loaded 2010 suburban than anything I have ever seen, everything goes out on it. His one before that would shut down the engine on the freeway going seventy miles an hour whenever it felt like it. Had less than 50k miles on it. I still can't believe he bought another one......

Sounds like you got the brains...

And to add insult to injury I now have to buy a $780 WIRING HARNESS for this G3 to replace 2 connectors... for the windshield washer pump. Almost 800 bucks for 3 dollars worth of plugs and wires... And it will take 5 days to get here. Crap, crap, crap.

I guess 17 years ago GM was a better brand? There have been no major problems with my Bonnie, and everything that I've needed to do has been something I'd expect to do on a vehicle this old- (brake lines, alternator, sway bar links, etc.). When the time comes that I need a transaxle rebuild I might consider putting a down payment on a new car instead. I'm at ~216K miles and it shifts like a champ, even with my heavy foot, so I don't anticipate any problems in the near future.

I think chrysler also owns kia and hyundai, or maybe Mitsu owns them? Its one way or the other i think. Yeah Daewoos are complete trash, I dont even think they are sold here anymore except for under the GM name. And yeah GM is having issues with their trucks stalling, its because of the stupid fly by wire throttle body......that was the dumbest idea ever! But the LS series engines themselves are the best thing out there right now IMO.
