Hey guys --

For the MMM adjustable BEC -- the hardware for adjustable BEC has been in the V5 hardware from the beginning, but we just now added the capability to change the program settings in the Castle Link app.

V4 and earlier hardware doesn't have the ability to change the BEC voltage, and will not show as an option.

Thanx!

Patrick

Interesting I say. I got my MMM two years ago (in an brushless emaxx).
I was pretty sure i had V3 but CL does show this option. When was the V5 released?

You sure it's two years old??

Hmmmm -- well, then lemme check.

I thought we release V5 about a year ago, maybe it was longer!

Or maybe there's a bug in the software.... does it actually change the output voltage of the BEC on your ESC??

Thanx!

OK --

I had to run down some ECO history.

It was actually V4 that had the hardware change for the adjustable BEC.

And yes, if you have adjustable BEC it will show up -- otherwise there isn't any option to change the BEC voltage.

/whew

I was thinking there might be an issue where it showed the BEC as adjustable, but didn't actually do anything.

We started building V4 about 30 months ago, and V5 about a year ago.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: I forgot i changed my MMM about 6 months ago
I accidentally did some -20 C "waterproof testing".
Thrust me, jumping onto a frozen lake, braking through the ice and having the water freeze before you bring your car home is no good for your ESC

So if both, V4 and V5 have hardware for BEC voltage changing how can i know which Version i have?

Sorry for messing things up...

Ah, you can't tell between V4 and V5, not from the outside. Sorry!

What about the Transistors? You have mentioned that MMExtreme (traxxas) has better/newer trans and new MMM has the same ones.
Does the V4 have those or its just the V5?

Well, the V5 can have either / or -- either the new transistors or the older ones. Depends on when it was made.

OK, thank you, Patric.

I guess I will go with a CC bec anyway because of five servos I'm planing to run.
CC link still does not work with the red wire cut off, does it?

CC Link can work with the red wire cut -- but you need to power the ESC with a battery - - It can't backpower the controller from the USB.

So, you connect the CC Link, and then a battery to the controller.

You must connect the link FIRST, and then the battery to the ESC to get a connection.

Thanx!

Patrick

OK, last question. I feel like I kinda spammed this thread

Will I void warranty if I'll open the plastic case? Because I have a bunch of stones and grass inside and the fan is stuck.

No -- we even sell replacement cases and fans just in case you mess it up.

Speaking of which, is there an expected date when the MMPro case will be back in stock? They seem to be on international backorder, and I miss running my SCT Pro system.
Thank you.

What has everybody experienced to be the best firmware for a v3 MMM?

Thanks.
