For what it's worth I have worked on a 3.3 maxx for a friend of mine. The fit of the axle to the output shaft was tight. I also believe that the diffs are exactly the same with the only difference being the case. It has 4 screws instead of 2 to hold it together better. I also like the knuckles with the two arms instead of one. Good luck with the shafts and maybe they will fit on a 3.3 diff housing.

The thing about the 2 arms instead off one, is that the bump steer is adjustable like a Revo.

I don't want to jack this thread but I don't see the adjustment on the knuckles, unless you turn the ball shaft upside down. I just figured it was a more solid setup.

You change the ball ends. They have set of ball ends with different off sets, and shim/spacers, ect.

yes. Its the adjustable ones. The exact same part as the revo steering blocks. In the setup sheet for the t-maxx there isn't any direction for adjusting for bump steer though. So Im not sure if it actually makes a diference like on a revo.

When i put mine together i put the rear outers a little higher than stock,stock has them in the middle and there's still some toe in on compression there,it's a slight adjustment really,hard to judge it by eye anyway.

so what everybody is saying is that the 3.3 driveshafts wont fit into an e-maxx of the bat. I also understand that you need the knuckles. So what im really asking here is that if i still use the maxx diffs would the 3.3 cvd's work on the maxx?(including the 3.3 steering block and turnbulkes)???
Im thinking of doing this but dont want to mod anything just a quick and easy install. |
I used revo cvds on the my emaxx w/ the 3.3 steering blocks. no issue. bolted right up. Cant say about the maxx 3.3 cvds. I havent tryed them. I would think there would be no issue though. Should bolt right up.

Now I'm really confused.... :confused: I got my 3.3 diffs saturday and just got around to quickly checking them out this morning. The holes on the stock 3.3 drive shafts don't line up w/ the holes on the 3.3 diff output shafts. How is this even possible?
I checked it out on the traxxas website. The revo and t-maxx 3.3 use the exact same part numbers for the drivshafts, and the t-maxx 3.3 and the e-maxx use the exact same part numbers for the diff output shafts. If I modify the shaft opening on the 3.3 drive shaft, so the holes line up, the drive shaft starts rubbing on the diff housing. The stock 3.3 plastic slider drive shaft should be an exact fit for the 3.3 diff. So what the heck????:019: I must be missing something here??? It just doesnt make any sense...:007: I'll have to spend a little more time looking into this tonight when I have more time, but I'm looking for ideas as to what I might be missing and how this can be possible? This is insane.... |
thats weird, compare the e-maxx slider with the 3.3 and see if there is a input shaft difference on the cvd. Are they the same in size? or is there one bigger.
is the 3.3 slider not fit into the shaft because its a tight fit or just too small? have you tryed to add some elbow grease to get that suker on there? |
The flats on the output shaft are actually bottoming on the opening for the driveshaft. The only thing I can figure is there are diferent yokes for the t-maxx and the revo, even though the traxxas website shows the identicle part numbers.
I can grind some material out of the opening on the driveshaft to get it to go on far enough to line the holes up, but then the shaft rubs on the diff case. This should be simple. Its starting to really p**s me off.:mad:1 |
different yokes, what yokes are you using now? if your using the t-maxx then get the revo, using the revo try the t-maxx. see what happeneds.

So they are diferent... Strange... the traxxas website shows the same number for both the revo 3.3 and the t-maxx 3.3.
If they are diferent, I'm not sure which I have. I didn't realize they were diferent. I have the sliders form my revo 3.3 and a set that I bought (ebay) that were supposed to be from a 3.3 t-maxx. I'll have to look closer at these later tonight when I get home. See if they are diferent. Either that or I'll just have to make the drive to the LHS and see if I can compare them (if they have both in stock). |
i just want to get the info so i can do the upgrade on my truck my stock e-maxx sliders aren't holding up longer!!!!:002:
