Hey, my pleasure!

Gundam-Guy 01.11.2007 05:56 PM

is it possable to run the evx off one 4s lipo?

coolhandcountry 01.11.2007 06:13 PM

I am not sure if it is or not. You would need to have an extrenal power supply.
I am not sure on the internal power part.

Sylvester 01.12.2007 10:01 AM

Yea you can. Just sauter the two wires which dont use the bec together and you wont have any problems (got it off a crawler site).

coolhandcountry 01.12.2007 02:18 PM

That is for a low cell count though. not 4s. If you did that you will put 4s voltage thru the bec.

Agree 100%!
As Leroy mentioned before, you can run from 4S if you use external power (separate receiver pack or UBEC). Just keep EVX power switch off or get rid of it, keeping wires isolated.

Whats wrong with my advice? With proper cooling and some mods on motor you can squeeze more power from it...

Yes, and beefed-up brush holders :)
As result extra Amps without fallen brushes, avoiding something like this

Well, two weeks later and I finally get to drive my new truck.(barely, its raining) There is no room to spare with these packs.(7.4v 6000mah) In fact, where the wires exit the packs, that posed a problem for getting them in the tray. I had to make an opening in the side of the trays for the wires, otherwise the packs would not lay flat. Also the little clips that hold the wires on the side of the gear covers had to be trimmed off or the pack would hit them as well. Thats why the wires are going over the moters instead of along the side.

I'm not so happy with the wires hanging out the side of the trays as it slightly buldges the body and potentially is in harms way from debris.I could always make the notches on the inside by the esc but that was going to take way longer and it was 2am when I was making initial fitment. I was a little dissapointed that maxxamps does not mention any fitment problems like this on there site, oh well.

The LVC blinks 4 times to indicate the the 4 cell configuration, so I guess its working right. A full charge took a bit over 3 hours @ 2.5amps. The initial voltage was 7.4v and now reads 8.32v Can't wait for some dry weather to take it out for a bashing:027:

Mike.L 01.13.2007 04:07 PM

Sylvester 01.13.2007 05:14 PM

Looks tight!

Should be a gradual performance increase!
