Yeah, I like the Deans too. It's just too bad they don't come in 3-position for use on the BL motors...

The deans are ok. They work great. I have a problem trying to unplug them.
The power poles I can wire batts in series with no special adapters.

Yeah, unplugging Deans can be a PITA. Too bad they didn't have some type of gripping texture or something to make it easier.

The trouble I have with power poles (or bullet connectors for that matter) is the physical length needed. Once you snap two ends together, the length of the resulting connector is larger than a Deans set. This is normally not a problem for long-ish wires, but when you only have a couple of inches of wire, it can be easier to unplug the Deans since there is more "slack".

I use Dean's on all my toys...

I've used Anderson Power Poles exclusively since 2003. I find Soldering a PITA so Power Poles and the Power Pole Crimper are excellent. Since Power Poles are genderless, connecting them in series is simple. My only issue with them is they can unplug too easy sometimes. I have to use a strip of electrical tape to hold the connectors together because in very bumpy races, they can disconnect. However, I am more willing to slap on a little tape then deal with Deans.

I've been playing around with the Mamba Max systems. I'm running a Mamba Max 7700 system in an RC10T4 on 3S Lipo. I've learned a bit since I got the system and would have taken a different route, if I had it to do over again.

The biggest problem that I had was that the esc kept thermalling. The motor was always cool though. I wound up having to go with a 12T pinion and the 87T spur to keep the thing from thermalling and still be able to get a good gear mesh. I also went from a 3S2P 8Ah pack to a 3S4Ah pack to cut the weight. The last thing I had to do was to run short tires (Speed Hawgs) with duct tape on the insides to keep them from ballooning and messing with the gear ratio. The setup is fast. Really fast. I wanted something fast, but didn't want a Jato. Everyone had a Jato, so I built this. Jatos (stock or modified) don't have a hope of keeping up. I guess that I can safely say that it does at least 60 mph.

With your Jato conversion, you have a few hurdles to get over. First, the Jato weighs more than my T4 does. You're also going to have to get some decent batteries. Lipos, or some sort of battery packs based on lithium chemistry are your best bet.

The absolute fastest Mamba setup that you can go with is a 4600 motor on 4S Lipo and gear it. I'm just not sure of how this will work out in the Jato because of it's weight. From what I'm understanding, you might want to consider getting one of the Feigao "L" motors and gearing it up. That might get you what you are looking for.

Welcome to the forum there. The 7700 on 3s lipo is pushing it. Have you thought of trying a 5700 on the jato? Got pics to.

I agree with this. And it works well on a Jato. Mine gets in the 45mph range on only 2s and I can run all day long temp-wise.
