Great to see the pics GD!

Oh... check out the monster fan over the motor/esc. That's why I stuck the esc there, so I could get two birds with one stone. The fan moves a lot of air. I ran this setup for over 30 minutes nonstop at the track in 90* heat and both motor/esc stayed around 150-160ish the whole time. It actually was a few degrees cooler right at the end than it was at one point earlier in the run.

GD,

What settings did you use on the Mamba with the NEU???

glassdoctor 02.08.2007 02:08 PM

I have the MM all wrapped up (waterproofed) right now...

I don't remember the settings for sure... I'll post them when I get a chance to hook it up.

Procharged5.0 02.08.2007 02:19 PM

I'd appreciate that. I might have you email them to me if you don't mind.....

Neu 1512/2.5D with Quark 125B

Wallot; those batteries won't give your setup the power it needs. Please clean up the wiring!! if anything gets stuck in the gears, you'll rip wires!

the top heatsink on the quark isn't really needed, the fetts are sitting on the bottom, so that's where it's needed.

You got a nice setup on your truck!! Nice...

glassdoctor 02.08.2007 03:01 PM

If you watch a few seconds into the video you will notice it cogging... did it several times.

But the settings on the MM:
brake:30%
drag:20%
Punch: 50%
Start: medium
Timing: low
cutoff: 12v

Nothing I have tried has fixed the cogging.

Dafni 02.08.2007 06:50 PM

Nice conversion, Glassdoc! I like it.

I hope a MM software update will remove your cogging soon.

Procharged5.0 02.08.2007 07:01 PM

Anyone heard when the when the update is due?

wallot 02.08.2007 07:02 PM

the top heatsink is needed as it holds the bottom ones tight to the quark. i might replace the heatsink just with 2 metal bars but it was so cheap i just got 4 heatsinks
i put the original gear cover on (after i have taken the pictures) so nothing can get there (actually added 2 new pictures of fully assembled maxx)

Batteries are temporary and they were ok with titans :) . I am waiting for battery bars so i can make 8cell packs from existing Sanyo packs i have been using and still deciding about better quality batteries to make new 8cell packs. Its winter anyway so plenty of time till I run maxx everyday, so I will spend a month or two with Sanyo 8packs for those few weekends

AAngel 02.09.2007 04:35 AM

Man, just what I was afraid of...there is no end to it. LOL

Nice stuff, do you actually have the time to enjoy all of it?

wallot 02.09.2007 04:44 AM

Thanks to mild winter i run my maxx almost every Saturday. Once weather gets better I will have it in my car and run it after work on BMX track on my way home.

I actually enjoy building maxx and stuff around. There are still couple things I want to change except new batteries:
FLM Shocktowers with 1/8 scale threaded shocks
Want Nomadio React radio with all the sensors
and maybe new suspension arms

And after I am done I will probably start building a new truck - either LST or Revo

wallot 02.10.2007 06:23 PM

Even with 14 sanyo cells and 3.3 diffs the car is insane. Was running 51/18 gearing and all that nitro guys said was "wow". I cant imagine it with higher quality cells (with 18 cells and 1/8 diffs) the top speed should be about the same). Unfortunately front bulkhead and arms did not like one bad landing :)
Well next time i'll be running with the FLM hybrids and RPM arms are on their way.
