I have got to hand it to you on this on; but that is one of the nicest conversions I have seen in a long while. Looks incredable and and will probably perform even better.

Thanks man! Love these kind of comments! :) BTW, hope you finish your project soon enough too! :)

It is getting so irritatign only haveing one workign rc, lol. Mike should be recieving the buggy within the next two days probably. So then, hopefully the mount will get done fairly quickly. Anyone know approximately how long it takes for Mike to make a motor mount? I am assuming 2 - 3 weeks.

Sorry to get off topic.

nice dom, been looking forward to seeing it. Now i have to come over some time and see it for real:)

Sylvester 02.18.2007 09:11 AM

Thanks. Getting a first full run out of it at work, wish me luck! ;)

nbcaznmaster 02.18.2007 10:08 AM

Niccceee job sly! remember VIDEOS!

Sylvester 02.19.2007 05:16 PM

Gotta get a cam first nbcazn!

Well i got some runtime out of it. All i have to say is WOW! This thing really rips, but i did notice one thing, at the beggining of the run when my packs were cold it would stutter if i punched the throttle, but after they warmed up i didnt notice it any more. I thought it was the lvc that was kicking in.

Serum 02.19.2007 05:20 PM

What battery packs are you using?

Serum 02.19.2007 06:52 PM

I see. 4S2P maxamps 4K. they should be capable of about 250-275 watts per cell before they hit bellow the 3V mark. pulling 2200 watts is quite something, i can't imagine that's the case.

nbcaznmaster 02.19.2007 07:11 PM

Warm up the packs with blowdryer before running, like i do with my engine. lol

4s2p 8K maxmaps packs.. it was quite some BAD stuttering.. i mean a jab of 2/3 throttle and it litterally sounded like my dogbone sheared into 3 peices... Odd.

MetalMan 02.19.2007 07:58 PM

If the batteries are cold, then they can't put out as much power as when they are room temp. How cold were they? And it could have been the LVC kicking in that caused the stuttering, to prevent the cells from dropping below the LVC voltage.

Hey Sylvester - great conversion!

I'll be using the same motor in my CRT conversion - so . . . what motor mount and heat sink are you running? Is that one of the RC-Monster's?

Sylvester 02.19.2007 08:05 PM

MM- inside my workplace was around or maybe a bit below room temps, which i think was the cause of the stuttering since i doubt the 8K's would have problems delivering the juice.

Sower- Thanks! I made the motor mount my self on a mill. Im running a XL heatsink from Mike, and really, i dont think i need it, i may be a little over geared since my esc got a bit hotter, my motor was warm through out the whole run.. gotta love lehners!:)

Sower 02.19.2007 08:17 PM

Nice. I've heard the Lehners are a pretty cool running motor. I'm looking forward to that. If they ever get in stock!

My rolling chassis will arrive this week - can't wait to get started. I'll be running the MM esc though, along with two 4900 Trakpowers. Not sure about the pinion tooth count yet though.
