i wouldn't use the lipo packs without a balancer to be honest.
the golden balancers for the trakpower packs; they come with the needed hardware (harnass) to balance the trackpower packs.

Hello all,

I understand the Trakpower will be upgraded with new cells in about 2 months, with no change in the capacity.

Can anyone tell me what will be the improvement then? And will be the positive impact in practical use. I am also thinking about getting the Trakpower, but considering the investment, I would like to take an informed decision...

Thanks :)

they are evo 20 now, they upgrade to evo 25.
meaning, 20c constant load for the ones now. thats 98 amps.
25c constant load for the new one, is 122.5 amps.

I am pretty sure they are the same cells;

I've seen the 5000mah packs, deliver 120A at a 3.55 or 3.6V voltage.. (which where rated 20C.)

Ok, I see... But ASAIK in a 1/10th car application, 100A sustained is already more than enough!

Ok, I think I'll go with the current version of the Trakpower

Yeah, for 1/10th 100A indeed is enough, but these trakpower packs can deliver 50C bursts while keeping their voltage above 3V per cell. Which is a rough 250A of power bursts.

Yeah, and thinking about Watts is even more impressive, talking about 700W continious and 1500W burst... that's just amaizing :004: !!!
