I don't have the single speed conversion, but I know a few people at racing that have or have had them, and they all seem to like them.
Some of the other guys use the UE steering I thiink, but I'm just using the stock setup for now with a better servo saver and a mid range hitec servo (don't remember what it's called).

Hitec HS645MG & Kimbrough large servo saver, good items.

If you can, find a proline steering servo, they are great. I use the Hitec 5955, 333oz of torque, I love it too!!!

suicideneil 04.11.2007 04:48 PM

The only thing that stopped me getting the Hitec 5955 was the price- $110.... good servo though by all accounts.

neweuser 04.11.2007 04:49 PM

bought mine for 104.00 at my lhs, well worth it too IMO

ClodMaxx 04.11.2007 07:27 PM

i just picked up a 5955tg from an ebay seller (store) that has them for $89! i think he still has that sale going for a few more days, too.

for those that have the 5955, do you notice it 'beep' a lot? the instructions say it's normal and that the servo is just trying to center itself (it happens mostly under load), but it's soooo noisy! esp. compared to my old 645mg.

edit: here is the ebay listing. he has crappy feedback score (98%, not bad, but not perfect either) but i got my servo within a few days.

I find Hitec digital servos to be noisey in general when compared to other brand digitals. Airtronics is nice an quiet.

I have both the Aitronics that Mike sells and the Hitec. The Hitec is more noisy, but I found with the Hitec if you adjust your EPA to perfection it creates less "beeping". But the torque you get is by far worth the noise IMO!!!:027:

I myself don't notice the noise when zipping along at 30mph.

This is very true, mostly at stand still or when your checking things out.

Big (powerful) digital servos are noisy.
Speaking of powerful... http://www.jrradios.com/Products/Def...rodID=JRPS8711

Not too bad! Never had a JR servo though, how do they hold up?

elegal 04.12.2007 03:37 PM

I had the 9000T in my emaxx, then moved it to my LSP, it is STRONG and have not had any problems with it yet. I do alot of stupid things in my trucks, so it has held up well IMO.

neweuser 04.12.2007 03:38 PM

I didn't see a price, you know how much they are?
