Ofcource conversion is beutiful and clean and to be honest I LIKE IT, I am amazed how solved wire mess. I have allways stupid wires everywhere :(
but when you race you need to be sure that your truck dont have weak points. He protects from dust his CVDs but not electronics. I can understand this on on-road car but definatly not on off-road. Maybe I am too paranoid? :) Meybe I pay more attention on that becouse I live in north, we dont have here perfect weather all year long, in winter wet and snowing, spring and fall lots of raining and in summer maybe only one month of perfect weather in other month every week rains bit more bit less. Some pics once from our race day in winter :D http://gallery.pistik.com/albums/tar...7/P1060367.jpg http://gallery.pistik.com/albums/tar...7/P1060404.jpg I wish to live somwhere in better place Respond Earlier on my coment: Under car beating i mean that i drive hard as i can I am going to limit. Who not risk dont drink champagne ;) |
WOW - I would be affraid to drive any electric car/truck in conditions like that. :surprised: Nitro I would have no problem, but electric - no way.

Hardcore racers don't normally run their good cars in condtions like that (pics above) unelss it's a big time race and you have to.
I have never seen, in person... a race in mud puddles, etc like that. I have seen it in mags etc... like in the UK... and even the 1/10 IFMAR worlds that were just run in Japan. But those guys traveled halfway around the world and had one shot to race. When our track is a lake we cancel the race cause nobody wants to annihilate their cars like that and have to spent hours cleaning them. Seriously you should tear it down completely and spray out and lube bearings, etc.. the entire car... after a race like that. That's what a basher vehicle is for. But I do have a background in 1/10 electric, and we don't have everything sealed up/ waterproof etc. So it doesn't seem odd to have everything "naked". You know what cars are good for running in snow/mud crap like that? Nitros LOL!!!! In "normal" race conditions... our clean "unprotected" rides are perfectly fine. In your race condtions, I would fire up a nitro. :) Edit: BTW, a buddy and I have a blast running his RTR 1/8 buggy at our track one day when it had huge puddles all over. We had to keep stopping every few laps to wring out the air filter, lol... It was completely soaked and covered in mud, and he took it to the car wash when we were done. We were laughing pretty good. But we would not do that with a good race car, even a nitro one. |
Ofcourse its not for electric and here is nitro race but i just show sample what wheather conditions possible to drive. This is race day and like glassdoctor said we have to race. And when race started weather conditions been much better just to the end of race day its like on pic.
Anyway i told my point. |
Whatever. I never had a problem. I'll make sure to report back when something happens.

Hey any word on those battery trays? And when they do come out will they fit the Xray XB8EC or only the truggy? By the way you posted on my thread over on Xrays forums about pinions and I just ordered a 16t but I will have to continue with the plastic spur because all the hardened pinions from 14t-17t were out of stock so for now the plastic spur will remain until I can get a hardened pinion.
|
I will have the full range of pinions here by the weekend - should be enough to hold tough for a while - they have been moving quite quickly for sure, but I have several hundred gears on the way. :)
And I can make a battery tray specific to your battery on request - my design is pretty universal, so it can be made to fit most any vehicle. :) |
Word!
BTW, the pinions hold up real good. No visible signs of damage yet. Daf |

How much would you charge for a battery tray? |
