I just got my 610i charge & have a ?. before i use it. There are two banana jacks thqat i would mormally plug the balancer into, but this charger has the balancer built in. So can i solder a deans plug onto the two wires that come with the charger & plug them into the sockets to charge the battery ?.

If the charger has a balancer built in it should have some sort of balance harness that goes between the charger and the battery's balance tap.
You can solder a deans connector to charge the battery but it will not balance that way. |

If I understand you correctly, I would think that the banana jacks are for connecting the charger to a power supply. There should also be some kind of harness that goes between the battery and charger like linc said....

Those are the otputs for charging a nimh battery, or 1s lipo.

The 4mm banana plugs are for connecting to the battery main power. You have to connect that when you balance as well. You do not have to have the balancing jack plugged in to charge, but you must have the charging jack connected for balancing.

You wouldn't be able to safely put a lot of amps through just the balancing harness, so you need those 4mm plugs for a decent charge rate, just like most charge through balancers do.

Usually my packs are balanced perfectly after charging thru my lba balancer, or my multimeter is not very accurate. Might be mostly the multimeter! I was wondering how they were able to offer a 10amp charge rate thru the balance harness. Makes sense that you have to use the outputs to do the charge and the balance harness regulates the cells individually and cuts off the charger should there be any issues. It is a good idea and goes a long way to make charging lipos foolproof!
