So basically they were supposed to have the 6.5mm bullets, but they didn't. I will wait to see what everyone esle has to say and see what everyone will get.

Sower 05.07.2008 04:05 PM

I actually hope mine comes like the one in the pictures with no 6.5's. I already purchased all the 5.5's for my setup and had them soldered onto my Neu 1515 and my battery.

e-mike 05.07.2008 04:19 PM

i just hope to receive my mmm this month...

Chapito 05.07.2008 04:23 PM

Just got mine out of the mailbox; no bullets so I'm diggin' to see if I have any 5.5 females. Sure would've been nice if they'd have told us so we could order some with our original purchase. Does'nt really matter though, my new 8T won't be here for 5 or 6 days. I actually prefer the wires to the bullets on the controller, must be 10g; they're huge.

BrianG 05.07.2008 04:46 PM

Couldn't you just use solder the wires directly into the sockets?

jhautz 05.07.2008 04:54 PM

Brian, I think he means that there are just 10 gauge wires comming out and no bullet connectors were included for the end of the wires.

IMO thats fine. I use 5.5mm bullets on everything and would have used them on my MMM anyway even if they provided the 6.5mm just to keep interchangability with everything else.

Also... There is nothing wrong with a direct solder to the motor wires if you dont have any bullets and want to get it running.

Chapito 05.07.2008 05:22 PM

[QUOTE=jhautz;170309]Brian, I think he means that there are just 10 gauge wires comming out and no bullet connectors were included for the end of the wires.

That is correct. And just realized my 5.5 females are on the dead Quark so I'm set(when my new ride arrives).

BrianG 05.07.2008 05:25 PM

Sorry, misunderstood. My bad...

Arct1k 05.07.2008 05:35 PM

Chapito - First one! Lets get some detailed pics, soldered up and the first test run!

8s to start with? Be interested to look at s/w options

bruce750i 05.07.2008 05:55 PM

I hate you Chapito!:cry::cry::cry::lol:

e-mike 05.07.2008 06:23 PM

if i dont have the bullet plug in the box...i tink that im gonna remove the plug on the esc and weld the wire directly on it...i want my esc....:yipi:i order one from mike,,there any person here have receive it(person who order from mike)?

MTBikerTim 05.07.2008 07:13 PM

I'm going to be dead before I get my MMM. The wait is killing me . Come on people who have received them. Get pictures get them installed and get video.

Just curious though. Like Drift_Buggy my ship date says 15th of May and I also ordered some 6.5mm bullets. How many other people ordered bullets with theirs and has anyone who did get a shipped notice?

JThiessen 05.07.2008 07:37 PM

What's up with the external BEC (shown in the picture on the Traxxas site)? The information I saw led me to believe it was internal to the unit?????

MTBikerTim 05.07.2008 07:41 PM

Thats not a bec it's the castle link.

F7Rider 05.07.2008 07:41 PM

I believe that was a picture of the castle link not a bec.

phatmonk 05.07.2008 07:50 PM

Next day it to me . I'll add the connectors and test it out . I would love to see videos of the controller in action. Maybe a few full packs.

ICUBoy 05.07.2008 08:08 PM

Gee it's nice to see someone else works long hours hootie! Just pass the time planning the setup and pulling the imaginary trigger- really hard!

So there was a long black chord, which I assumed was the Castle link. THe other chord was red/black and had a green "thing" on the end with round white sticker on it, and the other end looked like it has a standard servo/reciever plug on it. It looks a lot like the external BEC I got with both my HV-Maxx's.

skellyo 05.07.2008 10:12 PM

That's the castle link. It's got a mini USB on one end and the 3 wire plug on the other to plug into the 3 wire plug on the MMM.

FG101C 05.07.2008 10:33 PM

Got mine in, very cool indeed. I have a question. What's going to be the best way to mount this to the chassis? The case is built just like the Sidewinder, the Sidewinder I have doubleside taped to the chassis of my CTR.5 popped apart twice until I ran a couple spots of CA to hold it together. I really don't want to CA the Monster. Any ideas? Thanks.

skellyo 05.07.2008 10:42 PM

You can use industrial grade velcro or better double sided tape. I use 3M double sided tape that is meant for sticking emblems on full size vehicles. If the surface is cleaned before I stick it down, it's a real PIA to get the part off.

azjc 05.07.2008 11:12 PM

in addition to the velcro you could use a few zip ties as insuarance, my MM I have in my Rustler comes unfastened a little

The USB cable connects to it, the wires on the Castle link connects to the receiver lead on the MMM and the USB goes into computer

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.08.2008 06:03 AM

Is there any advantages running bullets/connevtors? Only that you can do a quick motor change?
Wouldn't soldering it have low-resistance comparied to bullets/connectors?

sleebus.jones 05.08.2008 08:16 AM

Yes, yes and yes. :)

JThiessen 05.08.2008 08:35 AM

Thanks Driftbuggy.

DickyT 05.08.2008 11:44 AM

I'm telling your boss!

...although I can be made to keep quiet for a small fee, which just so happens to be the exact price of a MMM.

DickyT 05.08.2008 03:25 PM

Haha, i wish i could have swung it, but my boss was in the mail room when it arrived and he brought it to me and watched me open it hoping it was an HDD for our exchange server.

I have set a conservative baseline setting to start with via the castle link though. I found in interesting that the fan comes on when plugged into castle link.

Brake - 45%
Drag Brake - 0%
Punch control - 70%
Start Power - Low
Motor Timing - Lowest
Cutoff - Auto Lipo

Defaults on the rest.

I need to goto the LHS and pick up some shrink tube, I am out, then go home, soler on some 5.5 mm bullets, strap it into the truck, plug in the 1515 1y and go! I charged the 5s lipo last night in anticipation.

I may have to take the ESC into the lhs for a bit of show and tell too ;) Being they do not have one yet.

Sower 05.08.2008 03:27 PM

Can someone post the dimensions of the MM for me?

DickyT 05.08.2008 03:29 PM

let me find a ruler. give me 10 minutes.

DickyT 05.08.2008 03:37 PM

Width 1.8" (45.72mm)
Length 2.1" (53.34mm)
Height 1.3" (33.02mm)
Weight 120.8 grams

david lamontagn 05.08.2008 03:37 PM

Please, i can't wait to hear your comments when you'll have run it for the firt time.
Which motor did you have with it?

I have a Neu 1515 1y and TrueRC 5s 8000 mah lipo in an rc-m mount e-revo geared 17/38.

I have to stop by the lhs on the way home tonight and pick up some shrink tube and a little show and tell since they do not have them in stock yet, then I will go home and wire it all up and go for a small test, it will be pushing dark by then. Saturday is my company picnic at a huge park where I can test loose and hard pack dirt, grass, sand and asphault.

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.08.2008 05:31 PM

I just got an email saying that it is on the way. I ordered mine when you were able to order on the internet
