drkros3 07.09.2008 12:03 PM

damn. im not going to be able to go to this one. my revo is in pieces on my desk lol. and i wont get the battery and esc for it for another few more weeks. s

so i guess i well see you at the next one lol.

rschoi_75 07.09.2008 12:28 PM

Hey drkros3,
I've got a few extra trucks you can run. I'm sure others will too. You should still try to make it even with your roller. I will have a spare MM esc and kool flight ubec on hand. I'm sure someone else will have spare batteries too. I just don't have any tools to solder right now since I'm only traveling with minimal tools and all my other stuff is in San Francisco right now. If someone has a spare soldering iron they could bring, I've got everything else needed.

TDC57 07.09.2008 01:22 PM

Please do try to make it!, there should be fun had by all.

I'm brining:
• Two trucks, (GEVO & 808)
• (2) 3s 5400mAH (2) 4s 5400mAH (1) 5s 3700mAH lipos
• Extra MGM 16024 controller
• Ice chest / dyed black inside from my GEVO project (for theses who remember)
• jnev 1515 1.5y motor
• basic hand tools
• battery charger
• A soldering iron
• I’ve got a spare 1512 2.5D s with CC 6.5mm bullets (I can bring if needed)

(what else is needed) anybody??

MetalMan 07.09.2008 07:41 PM

I too will have a soldering iron with me, and pretty much anything else anybody will need. I live about a minute away from where the bash will be.

Oh, and I'm also bringing my friend, who happens to be my camera man. But my camera is busted. Shaun, would it be alright if he operates your camera so he doesn't get too bored?

drkros3 07.09.2008 07:51 PM

i might try and make it. if my roller is back in one pieces. maybe i well bring my camera out and take some pics.

MetalMan 07.09.2008 08:58 PM

If any of you would like my cell phone number just in case you need help locating the place, let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Does anybody have an empty 5gallon water jug or anything like that? The dirt is a bit loose, so when we make jumps and stuff we can use water to help pack the dirt in. And if anybody wants to bring a shovel or two, that'd work as well.

jnev 07.10.2008 03:00 AM

I'll have a Revo, CRT.5, rc18mt, charger/balancer, tools, and I should be able to bring a shovel or two as well. I will need to borrow an ESC from someone for my Revo though...

Travis - Is there access to water at all? I can bring a hose. Or do you need the actual water?

MetalMan 07.10.2008 03:13 AM

That I know of, there is no access point for a hose, which is why I was thinking we could just fill up a 5 gallon water jug at my house and bring it over to the park.

TDC57 07.10.2008 03:55 AM

If you want to bring your tripod, that'd be alright. He doesn't usually use one, though.

Plastic ramps would help, as would that 5 gallon container for water.

I don't know of anybody else bringing a BBQ, maybe somebody is?

I can bring water.

If you have room you can bring beach chairs. I have some at my house that would be easy enough to bring over to LeBard. Also, there is a table-like thing at the park there, within extension cord reach of an outlet. I've used this table in the past to keep my stuff off the ground and for repairs.

Honestly, I have no idea. Last week there were CVDs, but whether or not they are still they I don't know. Our shipment comes in tomorrow (Friday) so perhaps you could stop by tomorrow night? I could even set aside the parts for you.

if they dont have them and you want to travel a little bit i know the chino hills store has the traxxas cvd in stock. i can hold them for you if you want.

jnev 07.10.2008 12:18 PM

Any setting are fine Shawn. Since it has 6.5mm connectors, I'll need to use the motor i bought from you because my 9xl has 5mm connectors... however the 1.5y will be super slow on 4s, but I guess thats all right. Either 4s or 5s is fine. Although if 5s, I may need to borrow a battery, but 4s is fine.

Bring anything you want. It seems obvious that you have way more stuff than anyone else. So we don't want to put too much pressure on you bringing so much stuff...

See you all on Sunday!

TDC57 07.10.2008 12:54 PM

Guys>
I found some CVD axels and new drive pins (I should be good to go) Thanks guys..

Travis.
OK.. cool
Can you just shoot me your address (?) I’ll stop buy your house fill up the bottles and review what left about 10:15 am ..

Jnev,
I don’t have any 5mm bullets (sorry), if you have some, bring them and I’ll get them installed on the motor / ESC should take all of 10 minutes. I’ll bring a 5s for the 1515 1.5y just incase but it’s only good for 20 min at a time (sorry) or I can take your bullets off your motor and put on 6.5mm one (??) we’ll work something out!..

Just and FYI,
I'm jumping on a plane in 5 hours and flying to the east cost for a few days, I’ll be back Saturday night (Late) so if anyone needs anything else please shot me a pm or something and I’ll wrap it all up Sunday morning.

Thanks guys, looking forward to it!..

Have a great day!..

Shaun.

P.S.
• No worries about bringing the “stuff”, I'm a dad with two active kids, I load up the “burb” every weekend with crap.

• If anyone needs my cell # (MetalMan has it or PM me) I may not have internet access until Saturday night thou.. :eyes:

MetalMan 07.10.2008 03:32 PM

Everything sounds like it is coming together nicely!

So jnev (it's Josh, right?), will you be needing my MM after all? You are more than welcome to use it, but if you aren't planning on using it I can throw it into my direct-drive-to-diff HPI MT2 and have another operational vehicle.

As Shaun said, I can distribute cell phone numbers. You don't even have to PM me, just say here in the thread that you would like them .

TDC57 07.10.2008 04:51 PM

Travis,
I’ve got Josh covered I'm just going to install a 1512 2.5ds and the MGM controller in his build, that should keep him running on 4 & 5s or until he brakes something!, please bring another build for spare ride..

Josh,
I'm assuming that is acceptable too you and it will all bolt right up to your bad boy (??) if so can you please strip your stuff out if possible?, can you also please bring some heat shrink for the wires (I'm out).

Anybody!,
I'm short (1) BEC for the MGM, do you have CC at work (??) if so can you please pick it up for me and I’ll gladly pay you Sunday Morning..

Can someone also please bring hotdogs / hamburgers and buns, plates, napkins, condiments, etc. IE the FOOD! (?) :eyes:

I’ll bring the match light, the BBQ and the soda (coke, RB, sprite, and a screwdriver for me!) - for lunch

Shoot I’ve got to go to LAX….

Have a great one

P.S.
I may have an architect and his son also stop by as well, he’s cool.. “Hope you don’t mind”.

MetalMan 07.10.2008 10:25 PM

Alright, I'll throw that MM/BEC in my MT2.

I can grab a CCBEC if there are any in stock. If not, I've got a spare 6v 3amp switching BEC.

So, who's up to bring food?

jnev 07.11.2008 03:17 AM

Anything is fine for the Revo. The 1512 should be able to push the Revo around fine. I would happily bring food, but unfortunately, I have been on vacation all this week and come to HB late Saturday night to stay at my grandparents house, and they're not into the whole barbeque stuff, as I am sure you can guess about elderly people...

Shawn - I will bring shrink wrap, and I am spare 5mm connectors as well... no 6.5mm connectors though.

Travis - You can install the MM into your MT2... the more vehicles the better. I am sure atleast 50% of the cars people bring will be broken by the end of the day.

MetalMan 07.11.2008 02:20 PM

The MT2 has been revamped... 5s2p A123, and 1/8 buggy shocks all around. Just needs the appropriate oils in the shocks. My Savage will also be making its first off-road appearance, but I gotta finish making the the actuator for the rear brake disc.

Here's my current list of RCs I'm bringing:
-MT2
-Savage
-CRT.5
-vehicle that in its previous life was a Rustler, but now doesn't resemble one at all
-XTM X-Cellerator (brushless and Lipo, of course)
-XTM XLB (nitro...)
-Tamiya Mini Fox (stock and slow, but fun)
-XTM Rage (if I can get it fixed)
-Rock crawler
-possibly my Dark Impact
-not likely, but I might drive my SH buggy. I would like it to serve as a track-only car, but we'll see.

So you say the more vehicles the better, and I will run out of room in my trunk...

TDC57 07.13.2008 02:04 AM

Dam.... that's a lot trucks...

Hay guys I just got back and wanted to check in and see if anything has changed (?) hopefully not!.. I'll see you all in the AM hours.

Thanks for your time and have a great one

Shaun… .

jnev 07.13.2008 02:11 AM

I also just got back abut an hour ago from vacation. As far I know, everything is the same... LeBard park at about 10:30 to 10:45. Just about to finish charging all my batteries.

TDC57 07.13.2008 02:15 AM

Are you using your motor or mine (??) is there anything i need to bring extra for you (?).

I've got about an hour of build time ahead of me tonight to get my GEVO ready..

Good luck on your's and have a safe drive Josh...

MetalMan 07.13.2008 02:28 AM

Okay, some stuff has changed:

-I've got 8 hamburger patties and 8 buns, all for me (JK!)
-a bag of chips
-waters
-make sure you all go to the bathroom ahead of time, there aren't any bathroom facilities there that I know of. There is my house, which is a minute away, though.
-I've got a spare 7XL finned can.
-I've got a spare 3amp 6v switching BEC
-My tools are in my garage, so if anything needs to be made, it can be done
-The LHS is about 10mins away, and I have a discount

I've still got a couple hours worth of stuff left, mainly painting 2 bodies and packing. Then there's charging... Just imagine how many batteries I'm bringing with me.

Oh, and Shaun can you bring your power outlet splitter thing? I can take care of the extension cord.

TDC57 07.13.2008 02:31 AM

That’s great (thanks for the food Sir).. Yes i will bring the spider box for power distribution, Did you happen to pick up a BEC for the MGM controller (??)

Thanks for your time Travis..

Have a great one and I'll see you in a few hours at your house..

jnev 07.13.2008 02:48 AM

That great you got all the food Travis! I have a brand new body for my Revo, but because I came straight from vacation, I didn't have time to paint it... so I am using a duct taped stock nitro Revo 3.3 body.

Shawn - I think all I need is the ESC and motor(s). I would use my 9xl, but it has 5mm connectors and your ESC has 6.5mm connectors... The motor i bought from you probably won't be used because it will be a snail on 4s only. And you mentioned I could use the 1512/2.5d...? If I can use the 1512 and MGM ESC, that would be spectacular. Couldn't thank you enough.

See you all tomorrow.

TDC57 07.13.2008 03:03 AM

I've got a new 3.3 body i used like twice, it's the stock traxxas one for the truck (blue and white) do you want me to bring that for you (??) no big deal..

BP-Revo 07.13.2008 03:33 AM

I'm charging my batteries right now. See you all tomorrow.

I've got some hot dogs I'll try to remember to bring too.

jnev 07.13.2008 03:34 AM

Nah, its all right. You're doing enough for me already. I have a brand new body... just haven't painted it yet.

Have a great night.

BP-Revo 07.13.2008 03:43 AM

Hmm...actually, its not THAT important but I figured I'd mention it just in case...

But if anyone has a spare set of MT tires that use 14mm hexes that I could borrow for my G2R, that'd be great. I forgot one of my Responses got shredded when I took for a spin while out in the desert. At worst I'll throw the Talons off my Revo 2.5R on there, but they get crappy traction and have horrible sidewall flex. So if anyone could let me borrow a set of tires that'd be awesome.

See you all tomorrow.

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3179.jpg

What am I missing (??)

P.S.
I'm bringing the BOY!.. AKA I'm getting a swimming scholarship to Harvard and will save my DAD hundreds of thousands of dollars..:party::party:

MetalMan 07.13.2008 05:10 AM

I seemed to have forgotten how long it takes to charge batteries... I'm about 2/3 done right now, and they were going for the last two hours.

In terms of a CCBEC, the store didn't have any at all, for some strange reason. But I still have one that should work fine.

Shaun, unfortunately I haven't really been able to start on the mount, but I did finish your tires . Too bad Hole Shots won't hook up at LeBard. Oh, and if you could bring that large empty water jug, too!

TDC57 07.13.2008 05:15 AM

No worries about the mount... I understand really..:party::na:

COOL for the tires, They will hook at up OCR thou..:party:

I'm bring two different charges and like (5 / 6) lipos all charged and balanced don’t sweat it..

See you in (ugg).. 7 hrs..:gasp:

rschoi_75 07.13.2008 12:40 PM
