I am going off of how he frequently comes on this forum and answers questions and updates us. If I owned/operated a multi million dollar company and shipped out some long awaited ESC's I would surely post up on that. That is also marketing your product to hopefully increase your multi million dollar profits.

The new stencils will be in on Monday, and production will resume then. THAT MEANS PRODUCTION WILL RESUME ON MONDAY.

For those of you who need further clarification... That means that we will start building Monster Max controllers again on Monday.

If that isn't clear enough for you -- here's some more details.

On Monday, about 9:00am, UPS will deliver a pair of MMM stencils. A stencil (in the electronics world) is a large piece of nickel plated stainless steel, about .006" thick, stretched tight into a 29" x 29" tubular aluminum frame. The thin sheet of stainless has apertures cut out of it with a laser, and is used for putting solder onto a circuit board. The solder is printed onto the circuit board using a machine called a "stencil printer." Our stencil printer is a Dek Horizon printer. You can click on the link below to get more information about the Dek Horizon stencil printer:
http://www.dek.com/web.nsf/us/product_horizon

Our machine operator, Shawn Messmer, will load the Horizon printer with the solder stencil for the top side of the Monster Max first. He will then load solder paste (which is a paste made of microscopic solder balls suspended in flux), and start production.

After the solder is printed on the circuit boards, they then move out of the Dek Horizon (by conveyor), and into our Universal Instruments Advantis Lightning (AC-30L). Our Advantis AC-30L is our chip shooter, and will place about 32,000 parts per hour onto the MMM circuit boards.

After leaving the Advantis Lightning AC-30L, the board will move by conveyor to our Advantis FlexJET AX-72. The Advantis FlexJET is a little slower than the Advantis Lightning, but can place larger, more difficult parts. This type of machine is usually called a "flexible placer", where the AC-30L is called a "chip shooter."
To see more information about the Universal Instruments Advantis, visit this link below:

http://www4.uic.com/wcms/WCMS2.nsf/i...oducts_18.html

After leaving the Universal Instruments Advantis AX-72, the MMM boards will move through the reflow oven, a Heller 1707EXL. The reflow oven solders the board (all at one time!) by raising the temperature of the board slowly until all of the solder paste (stenciled on by the DEK printer!) melts, or reflows. To see more information about the Heller 1707EXL reflow oven, visit the link below:

http://www.hellerindustries.com/h1700EXL.htm

After reflow, the boards cool for about an hour. Then it is off to the inspection station, where we employ a MIRTEC 5 camera automatic optical inspection machine, which checks all the parts and solder joints to be sure everything is perfect after assembly.

To see more about our Mirtec 5 camera AOI, please see below:

http://www.mirtecusa.com/desktop3.html

Once all is checked and found to be OK, the MMM will then move into soldering, where our soldering technicials will add the switches and receiver connector (with love, of course!)

Then the boards move on to final assembly, where they are placed in cases and stickers are added to the case.

Next, the nearly complete MMM move into functional testing -- where each and every MMM is calibrated, and tested with loads of up to 100A. During functional testing, the output waveforms, throttle response, and cutoff voltage settings are all throughly tested.

After passing functional testing, the MMM move to finishing and packaging, where they are carefully placed into a box along with a CD, cable and Castle Link.

Then the MMM are moved into stock, where they will await final packing and shipping.

Hope you found that interesting!

Patrick

Not enough info.
Need pics.
Monday? Can you please tell me which day of the week that is? Is it after Wednesday?
What's an MMM?
What is the size of the UPS truck that is delivering the stencils?

Hahaha :na:
Thanks for the info, sounds really interesting... and expensive.

I'm begining to feel the same way but they (CC) were having phone line trouble last week so maybe their connection is/was down & they could not communicate. Lets hope.

hobbimaster 07.28.2008 04:37 PM

Well, hopefully they dont have AT&T, I've had 5 tech's at my place since the 17th to fix my phone line, DSL seems to finally work :)

George16 07.28.2008 06:05 PM

It seems kind of phony to me to see a multi-million dollar company having phone and email problems this long. Remember, he also makes products for the military and not having a means to communicate means loss dollars.

By the way, how hard would it be to have a backup system?

phatmonk 07.28.2008 07:04 PM

I realy dont know what to think about all this.Has anyone even tried calling?I am sure they have better things to then shag my call.:whistle:Also we have had some pretty wild rain storms, high winds and tornados here in the mid-west today 4 inches in my rain guage this morning.

bl-is-future 07.28.2008 07:51 PM

For one it doesnt matter how much your company makes. Down phone lines are out of reach for the company itself. I was out of power for 3 days once. I could have all the money in the world and it wasnt going to fix the problem. give em a break. i;m sure if it was possible to get the systems up they would.

TruckBasher 07.28.2008 08:15 PM

I dont want to be all negative on this issue but there was a series of events that made me believe that there will be more delay...
First, Robo Market Place (not as good as RCM, Tower.. and Impakt but good service) jsut canceled my order. They are the ones who refunded me because it seems they've had multiple complains and they give up on CC. Heres the email.

"Jeff,

I just got off the phone with our distributor who said they don't expect to see the Mamba Monster until Mid-Sept.

With that being said we are going to go ahead and cancel the order for you and refund your paypal..

Sorry for this inconvenience..

Do you still want the RC Switch? If so we will cancel the order and you can place a new order for the RC Switch.

Hope this helps and have a great weekend!

Thank you

Second, Impakt RC just pulled their pre-order and responded that they did it because they dont know when the next batch is coming....

Third, we've only heard about the 2 guys with beta and that's it.....not no news...

For a household to loose phone and internet connect for a week would be normal but for a 11million dollar company to loose connection is crazy...unless area has been hit a major hurricane and flooding. I guess what I'm saying is that something might have happened to those stencil or it could be that they are already doing the mass production and everyone is soldering connectors that no one can answer the phone but I hope at least someone will tell us they delay....Its normal to have delay...even Mike gets delay, Tower got some delay but to tell everyone "in the next 2 weeks" after another 2 weeks and another...turns out to be 5 months well i dont know......I know that for a complicated process like they go thru it unavoidable to get setbacks and get delay but for a 5mos delay on other is bad for business....and CC is not the one taking the heat. Its the small companies that resell them...

Sorry for the rant 4months into waiting and 2 of my 4 orders had been cancelled because shopped decided to quit on CC....I guess I should have gotten the picture...

Ohhh I think the one who took the bet with Patrick....is gonna WIN....

phatmonk 07.28.2008 08:33 PM

That sucks Impakt site does say the MMM will be ready? end of August?

Considering last monday Joe said that they were getting a shipment of stencils from ups at 9am and they would be going into full production and now over a week later joe has not been heard from, well seems strange to me, the guy was very excited sounding and was updating us almost dailey and then he just went silent.

Bad news would be better than no news. Castle made me believe that these were going to be shipping by now...are they? If not when?

jordan... 07.28.2008 10:20 PM

Impakt has pushed back its MMM ETA to late/mid August. There's some bad news for you

TruckBasher 07.28.2008 10:43 PM

Yeah their job was to provide something they commit they can give...and also to give some sort of news when delay is expected. The prob here is that a lot of people is expecting to use a good quality controller but to prob is they dont know when....instead on getting MGM, Tekin and ebay ESC they invested on CC....I get it for those who broken their MMM they are lucky in a way they get to be the first but how bout those who have pre-ordered they had a choice..if CC committed Aug or Sept 3-4 mos back then people would have gotten their money on other options...good thing for me the shop offered refund by themselve...oh well...just breathe, relax....good suggestion

BTW, i just noticed this thread and Sparky's thread for beta test has no photo...how come no one posted the famous thread reply? Maybe they dont have camera or i'm so blinded by the delay I missed the photo

jnev 07.28.2008 11:03 PM

That's a very good observation. I know for sure that if I was given a MMM for beta test, the first thing I would do is to take pictures and then run the heck out of it.

hemiblas 07.28.2008 11:33 PM

I would like to know what is going on to. I paid for my controller back in may and its now been 2+ months.

tc3_racer_001 07.28.2008 11:44 PM

umm try more like 3 months!! aah well, hopefully they will clear this mess up... with all that money mike could have invested in shares and made millions!

I agree. I have had mine preordered for a very long time as well. I think I will give it a couple more days and if nothing or no word about it being released in the next week I am going to ask for a refund from Impakt as well. I can always pick one up once I hear for sure the v2 has no bugs.

Do you know how long people have been waiting for the MMM? Literally about 3 years now since CC announced they were producing this ESC. It has been postponed and pushed back for a very very long time. Now it is finally upon us but there were issues with the first version. People got a taste of how the ESC is and now are waiting yet again. I can see why people are antsy about this myself included. Being like a old lady? No. Wanting something I paid for 5 months ago? Yes. Wanting to be updated on what the issue is when we were told they were going to be building them again over a week ago and shipping again? Hell yes.

I think Patrick and other CC employees would be better off not saying anything until they were in the mail to the customers. Broken promises are what irritates customers. Especially in this hobby. My .02

Arct1k 07.29.2008 12:45 PM

I just had a phonecall from repairs saying 6-8th aug to finish production should start shipping around 13th

TexasSP 07.29.2008 01:03 PM

I don't know what broken promises people are talking about. My MMM has been there for repair since May. My life has not ended because of this and I can still run RC's. Patrick and others have been more forthcoming than any other company I have ever seen. I want mine as bad as everyone else but wild speculation and rumors won't get it here any faster. I am sure if you are disappointed enough that CC would happily refund your money if it's such a problem.

Personally I would rather them get it right and take longer than just get it and it break again.

ummmm...like someone said to me

"now please wipe your nose off"

TexasSP 07.29.2008 02:27 PM

I don't have my nose up anyones butt. I just know what it's like to design and manufacture product, have problems, try to stick to deadlines, then face more problems. It's tough. I have dealt with many vendors via work with several hundred thousand dollars on the line and less communication than Patrick gives for a 170 dollar toy.

The point is, it's a toy, no one will live or die without it so lighten up. Too many people are beating this to death like it's a heart transplant or something.

easy Tex...I agree...but some idiots here did say that to me

TexasSP 07.29.2008 03:00 PM

I know. I wasn't directing it at you really and am not angry at all.

phatmonk 07.29.2008 04:35 PM

Thats not too bad another week I can wait. But I feel a bit jelous to see the V2 MMM

FG101C 07.29.2008 05:25 PM

It's kind of like an auto body shop (or any mechanic for that matter). The more you ask when will it be ready the longer they will push it back. Personally if people would'nt have been going ape the first time they probably would have taken a bit longer to test the thing. I am so ready to get my 8-T running again. But patience is the key, when it does come it will be well worth it.

Just chill, if I were Joe I would not feel motivated when you see a post every other day from someone freaking out about when will it be shipped.

That's just stupid. People would be absolutely furious and everyone would be demanding their money back if they had paid for something as you say '5 months ago' and then heard nothing about what was happening since they paid. I know I would.

Castle is doing an excellent job with communication I think. You have to remember that if Patrick posts he gets a whole bunch of questions relating to that post. The more he posts the more questions he gets. I think Patrick does a great job of posting on the forums. He holds back from getting sucked into the endless conversation which end up going no where and achieving nothing but he also answers the important questions with accurate information.

Same goes with sending out e-mails. If you send out a group e-mail to people like castle did saying that the repairs on the MMM were going to be delayed you have to expect to receive a large number of those emails back with more questions. This can be very time consuming answering all these questions but castle is doing a good job.

If anyone thinks I'm brown nosing well I am but I am dealing with a number of companies at the moment and most of them are far less informative then castle so I sit knowing nothing of what is going on and I know a few of them I will not be dealing with again due to lack of or just poor communication alone.

hemiblas 07.30.2008 12:06 AM

I agree, I like being informed also and I appreciate all their effort. Just been a while since I saw my money go bye bye.
