To me that doesn't exactly show you've got your priority's in the right order.

Trust me. You have nothing to fear. I know he didn't answer your question in the very next post, or the next one... Did you ever stop to think that maybe he didn't have the answer at the time? Or, he simply did not notice your post? In any case, I think the question has already been answered. Have fun with your V2! :mdr:

I've been waiting patiently for it and I'll continue to do so. I'm still going to wait until you guys beat the crap out of the new units before I get one . So just grab a beer (My Doctor recommended 1 beer or glass of Red Wine a day :drunk:) or a soda if you are under aged and relax a bit.

Alright, get up and ready, have a shower, have your morning cuppa. Youll probably get there early, but maybe if the person working is too they'll let you in before official opening hours and you can crack it open and see if dreams really do come true...

GT35R 08.04.2008 09:28 AM

Man its annoying to subscribe to a thread just to keep reading about a bloody lollipop comment!
I want news, or driving reports

The perk will be that it works (finger crossed, again)....

I know its frustrating, but sometimes in life things dont always work out perfectly, so you just have to accept it and wait for the problem to be fixed; no rewards for being patient unfortunately.

jayjay283 08.04.2008 02:54 PM

Its back !!! We are back in business gentlemen...I dont think its my original one because it doesnt smell like death, but they sent me back my old connectors and new ones for the new MMM. P.S. sorry for the bad pics. Wife changed the shutter speed or something, dunno how to fix it LOL

Actually, they aren't replacing them in order. Not to single anyone out but my Monster was already at Castle for repair the day before TexasSP's failed and he has received an email saying his was on the way back to him but I got nothing. Also, I'm pretty sure DickyT would have posted if he had gotten an email about his replacement shipping and iirc his was the very first failure.

Ok, I take it back. I just went and checked the mail and mine was here! I didn't get an email saying that it shipped so it was a big surprise. Now all I have to do is wait for a new case for my "brushless ready" transmission so I'll have something use it in.

Is it a personal preference thing with the rain or are the MMM's not waterproof, I looked on their website but it didn't state whether it was or wasn't.

macr0w 08.04.2008 06:32 PM

I got mine today as well. It's already installed in my buggy. :mdr:

Has anyone else have the problem with Castle link?

It ran good anyway. It didn't thermal in this 98 degree temperature. And that's saying something.

The castle link cued right up for me, but it said I cant get firmware updates for this controller with this version so I updated from 3.051 to 3.10 and it still was the same stuff ? I have the options same as Mamba max to adjust with though

Very nice of them to include the leads w/6.5mm ends!

Edumakated 08.04.2008 07:29 PM

Damn it. My package was the regular Mamba Max. I was hoping for the Monster's back. Owell, hopefully, it won't be much longer.

The guys at Castle told me that the firmware on the MMM is newer than what is available on the website. This is due to the fan controller. It will be included in the next release they said.

jayjay283 08.04.2008 08:39 PM

I drove it for 27 minutes (till lvc) and alls good (26:47 longer than V1), MMM,9xl,Neu 30c 2x 2s 5ah, 24/65 (easy setup for 1st run, no 6s 1Y like last time LOL) the monsters temps never got over 108º* , 9xl 145º (*The highest I could measure with the case on, bit of a turd trying to guage it). The fan only went on twice and went off after a few seconds of me looking at it. It runs real cool. Humidity is retarded out here and about 85 ambient. Its smooth as butter just like before, no cog takeoff even at slow pull. Check out the video and restart the beginning a couple times. No cog at all and I was barely pulling the throttle. (wife cant video, missed my wheelie with sparks pfft) I think were back in business ! Congrats Castle.

MTBikerTim 08.04.2008 08:48 PM

That's awesome. I can't believe I didn't get an e-mail today. Hopefully tomorrow. I have to wait 2 weeks for mine to travel the 5000 miles mentioned earlier anyway. I can't wait. The savage was stupid with the old MMM.

TruckBasher 08.04.2008 08:48 PM

Thanks for the vid.....too bad Im not in the US and my MMM would be 2-3weeks away...

macr0w 08.04.2008 09:26 PM

Man! Mine got up to 150 degrees pretty quick. I think it stayed there but 108 is crazy cool. I'll be doing some more testing through out the week.

Colby 08.04.2008 09:35 PM

Got my MMM today. Uninstalled the MM and mounted the MMM. Hooked it up to the Castle Link and set it to what I had the MM set to. Took it out side and ran it up and down the street where it ran great for about 4 minutes and then stopped .... just like the v1. I immediately unplugged everything and took it inside. I put it on my work station and plugged the battery back in and switched it on. It seem to come alive (unlike my MMMv1) but any throttle gave it uncontrolable cogging ... I unhooked everything again.
Now, what is really strange is that when my MMMv1 died on me and I found it was going to be awhile before I'd get it back, I re-installed my MM. After installing the old trustee MM I experienced the same severe cogging. After checking everything out I determined that it was the Neu 1512 1.5 that was the problem component. Since it was still under warranty I sent it back to Neu where they prompty sent me a replacement. I installed the new Neu with my MM and everything ran fine until today. I ran my Jammin just yesterday with the MM and Neu and it ran fine. Now I'm wondering if the MMMv1 caused the problem in the Neu ... I mean this is one hell of a coinencidence. I'm not sure where to go from here, I have another 1512 never used and of course I stll have my MM. I think I'll uninstall the MMM and install the MM and see what happens. I'll be calling CC in the morning and see if they can shed any light on the subject matter.
Just for the record, I was using a 4s 3700, and am not using a/the BEC. I'm running a short RX extension cable with the red wire cut so the MMM has not been modified. Also keep in mind this setup was running flawlessly for over a month with the MM and ran perfectly for about 4 minutes with the MMMv2 so if there was a wiring problem it would of never of ran. I'll report back tomorrow after I talk to Cc and try a swap out of either the Neu or the MMM.---------------------------------------------------------------
Jammin X1CR, Neu 1512/1.5D, MMM/MM, NO BEC
XTM/XT2, Nemesis XL, Hydra120, NO BEC
2 FireFox 4s 3700, 2 Neu 4s 5000

ffactory666 08.04.2008 10:22 PM

Colby i saw your post over at RCTech as well .
Hopefully it is something simple and maybe over looked and not the first death of a v2

Colby 08.04.2008 10:36 PM

Yes, I do to. I think the first thing I will do is to switch the MMM out for the MM. If the problem still exist I'll switch out the Neu. One way or another I'll have more to report on tomorrow.

ffactory666 08.04.2008 10:40 PM

Good luck my friend , i think we are all waiting with baited breath .

Colby 08.04.2008 11:26 PM

I couldn't wait til morning ... had to try something tonight so I could give CC tech support more insight tomorrow. I unplugged the MMM; didn't uninstall, just unplugged from motor, RX and battery ... and with the MM laying on top the MMM I plugged it into the motor, RX and battery. AND everything worked fined so it's not the motor and seems to be the MMM. Gee, I don't know if that's good news or bad news.
