I figured they were gonna have a really full buggy class with as many people that were going to be there.
I have a body, and another set of wheels/tires in the mail. We'll see how well they work. The rims are RPM rims. If my body does get here by Friday I'll have to do a hack job on another, either my old 1/10 gas truck body or my CRT.5 body, neither of which would cover well or look good. |
I've been so busy building my RC8T and brushlessing it out that I've totally skipped out on my plan to make a new body for my mini. Today I finally got around to cutting this proline body out and dremeling a space out in the rear for the wing to fit through. I'm working on stickers right now.

Nice crt.5! I have the same tire/rim set as you on both my crt.5, only I dyed the rims black...The truck that they are on is in my avatar

LOL, you think you will get enough downforce with that small wing?
Hahaha. Going blacked out! and pretty good idea for the wing hole, looks alot cleaner. Maybe you could get some sort of body clip deal for the wing, so you can take it on and off real quick? |

I'm sorting through some ideas for having a quick disconnect wing but I haven't found anything that looks real promising yet. |
is a BEC worthwhile on the MM when you are only pushing a 2s config?

Update to my CRT.5:
I haven't been working on it much the past few months as I've had my RC8T to build and race. It definitely stole the spotlight. Recently I've been putting in a few hours here and there working on the mini again to work out a few kinks and iron out the wrinkles. After much thought I'm dropping the A123's because of their awkward size and power density for the space they take up. I'll keep the packs around to test setups, but other than that I'm out of A123's until they make a flat pack and label it as their own (I don't trust MA LiFe). That being said, I'm investing in a couple of HC lipo's. Anyone think 4s on a 1509 1.5Y is a little much? I'm gonna shoot for the moon, maybe I'll beat NASA there! :intello: |
Any thoughts about the Zippy 4s1p 3500 30C packs?

I'm running Rhino 3S 4000mah 25C with a Medusa 50x3300 and my e-crt.5 is a beast with 10th scale truck tires & wheels.

Does anyone have an estimate of how many amps I should aim for when choosing a Lipo for this setup. 4s 3000mah, 20C rating? Or should I aim higher than 60 amps continuous?

I would like to know if some of the experts out there think this battery is suitable for a 1509 1.5Y in my mini. 1.5y is 2400kv if I remember correctly. |
Lipo's on thier way
$25 to ship 2 lipos from china, I could have almost bought a 3rd pack for that:oh: |
I wanted to clean up the wiring a little bit before my lipos get here. I ran the bec and esc wires through a small hole in the battery box to go around the center diff rather than over it. Standard sized soft lipos shouldn't have a problem fitting in while laying flat. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the power switch, it's ugly with the wires hanging over the rear center drive shaft. I also modded some scrap body post and put them on the front tower, I was tired of only have 1 unbroken body post.

Will have my lipos this afternoon after work! Would had them yesterday but wasn't there to sign for delivery :( pics to come soon.

I didn't have time to run a full pack down before I started feeling like a a pile of crap. Went inside and crashed for 4 hours. Snapped a pick for everyone. The pack is smaller than I imagined. 4S, but only 3000mah. The MM really heated up with the tall gearing (expected), so I took it from 16T to 15T (smallest available other than the 14T on my RC8T) and slapped a tiny fan on it to cool it down. It stayed around 130 even in the afternoon heat. Motor got up to 154, pushing the truggy around the street on speed runs, through the week tall grass. Nothing can stop this thing. It can be hauling at 30, blip the throttle and it's on its back. I can't get it up to full throttle without losing control. This is what a basher should be like.
