Yeah, the rhythm section looks tough as does the big triple on the back straight. I think the brushless will have the power to clear it, I'm more worried about how narrow it is...or looks in this pic...plus any big jump near a fence or pole can be trouble.

lutach 09.21.2008 02:00 PM

Alright, my Neu 1515/2Y/F will be here tomorrow and the grinding work will start .

Edit: Even the Mega ACn22/45/3 should be here. Things are looking good again.

REVO-DADDY 09.22.2008 01:23 PM

Would you guys allow a lowly Nitro powered Revo the opportunity to compete?

I do have a brushless buggy but I only have one battery for it.

Electric Dave 09.22.2008 01:44 PM

Nitro is allowed (um, tolerated in my book) in all classes except the "Brushless Open" class...

Bring em both!

REVO-DADDY 09.22.2008 02:28 PM

Well its only fair since we tolerate electrics at the pin shop lol.

What kind of creations run in the brushless open class?

If my friend E-mikey lets me borrow his battery I will bring both.

Electric Dave 09.22.2008 02:35 PM

It's not really that wild...most guys just run the same vehicle they run in another class. Hard part is that it does double wear per round if you run the same vehicle in two classes plus you need twice the battery...

E-Revonut 09.22.2008 11:20 PM

IMO it's best to have some nitros running at the bash! Part of the idea behind the bash is to showcase our brushless beasts isn't it? Aren't we supposed to be showing that electric can be every bit as powerful and fast as a nitro burning RC? I really hope that this doesn't wind up being a pro race, getting coverage from rc driver may bring some big names for us to compete against, might not but there is a chance. I also hope the weather holds out cause if I check the weather the night before and it says rain I'm not driving 4 hours to not run my truck!

Electric Dave 09.23.2008 07:37 PM

So we are under 1 week away, Sunday weather so far looks good - what's the tally? Who is going and what are you running?

I'm going for sure, I'll be running my E-Revo in MT and I'm considering running my E-CRT in both Truggy and Brushless Open...however last year that was not a wise choice and the wear meant that I DNF'd both mains. I think if it comes down to it, I'd rather run Brushless open rather than the Truggy class but for now I'm hoping to run all three.

E-Revonut 09.23.2008 10:49 PM

Weather in CT might be good but the forecasts I'm looking at for Chester, NY are calling for rain on Sunday. Hopefully that changes!!! If it does I'll be running my E-REVO and CRT.5

alexrckid 09.23.2008 10:56 PM

we just ran our wild nitro revo in a race, this past weekend, at the barn. we had NO PROBLEM clearing each and every jump(including the triple on the back side). so, with all the rip that brushless trucks have, it'll be no problem. you'll really enjoy the LONG front straight.........only casuality that we had was a split rear rocker and a cracked upper/front control arm..........still managed to finish the 20min A-MAIN in 3rd place out of 8 racers........

Arct1k 09.24.2008 03:05 AM

Start praying to the monster... Please someone scrafice an ESC & Lipo in order for there to be sun!

lutach 09.24.2008 07:26 AM

If it does rain, will the Bash be held on the next Sunday?

brushlessboy16 09.24.2008 07:31 AM

what about the indor track?

Electric Dave 09.24.2008 08:33 AM

The indoor track at the Barn is pretty small. They run 1/10th on it...an E-MT or E-Truggy would be kind of big on that track...

However it would be nice to know how things will be handled in case of bad weather.

REVO-DADDY 09.24.2008 08:42 AM

I just hope it clearly goes on way or another. I hate being on the fence, especially considering I have a 2 hour trek.

AutoXMan 09.24.2008 01:11 PM

What do you guys think about 1/10th scale truggies, does that go in the 8th scale class or 1/12th?

Anyway I plan on coming, but don't have any electric conversions so you guys can walk all ove rme. Probably racing buggy, and truggy or monster truck haven't decided yet.

Electric Dave 09.24.2008 01:20 PM

What's a 1/10th scale truggy?

I believe he is referring to the crt.5...it started out as a 1/12th scale, but, w/Mike's conversion, it ends up being a 1/10 scale and seeing that it is 4wd., they consider it a "truggy"

Arct1k 09.24.2008 01:22 PM

Presume LS10 or similar - With the CRT.5's I wuold imagine

lutach 09.24.2008 01:34 PM

I'll be taking my TC3 Truggy.

Finnster 09.24.2008 02:38 PM

Yeah, I heard the weather may be crap. I need to do a lot of work, but I plan to bring my crt.5 and a 1/8 truggy. I may bring a nitro muggy to screw around with, but its not really a racer.

I'll bring my BPP just to mess around too. It's too heavy the way it is now to be a racer lol.

REVO-DADDY 09.24.2008 02:58 PM

I think he has one of these:

lutach 09.24.2008 02:58 PM

Do I need to bring my PT or will they be handing out their own transponders?

Electric Dave 09.24.2008 04:42 PM

The Barn has house transponders but if you have a personal, that's totally the way to go.

e-mikey 09.24.2008 04:43 PM

I would love to go. :/ Can I go up there any day of the week and use the track? I'm up there quite often, in fact, I was up that way today.

e-mikey 09.24.2008 04:44 PM

Whoa we posted at the same time.

Bingo, it is 1/10th scale truggy out of the box, I owuld imagine it would be comparable to stretched CRT .5's?

Anyone mind if I run this in the 1/12 class?

So just for confirmation, does anyone have a problem with me running this thunder tiger in the 1/12th class?

lutach 09.24.2008 06:36 PM

Since I had the Dremel out to MOD my Mamba Monster, I decided to MOD my MBX5T to see if I could fit the Neu 1515/2Y finned without trying to grind the heat sink further. I had to cut the chassis just beneath where the motor goes, grind down the bearing support and that was it. I used a nice little mask to protect me from carbon fiber dust, but forgot to use a long sleeve shirt and now my arms itch like crazy. Well it worked out good. I love the Dremel. I changed my gearing from a 15/48 to a 17/48 to get some more top speed. So I went up from 35mph to 40mph. I hope temps stays down. I'm going to do a test run tomorrow to see how it goes. I'm also going to take my 1515/1.5Y and my first version ESC too incase I need a back up.

Edumakated 09.26.2008 11:31 AM

how is the weather holding up? Trying to figure out if it is worth the risk... will be driving 11 hours on Saturday to get there. Too far to drive for a rain out.

AutoXMan 09.26.2008 01:09 PM

Hard to say as of yet, forceast looks like the rain will subside by Sunday, but again hard to tell.

E-Revonut 09.26.2008 04:00 PM

The Weather channel is saying rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Not looking good! Unless that changes drastically I will be staying at home!

lxmuff 09.26.2008 04:57 PM

I just talked to Tony Screws about the race, track and current weather there. It looks very bad from the Atlantic and the entire region. The forecast is only predicting worse conditions. Doug and I are gonna skip the trip from Michigan for this event from the latest news.

lutach 09.26.2008 04:59 PM

Next weekend looks much better and the temps looks to be the same.

Finnster 09.26.2008 05:04 PM

Here in Cent NJ the rain has been steady but light. Not too bad, but I'm going up there regardless, so I'll give it a go. I'll talk to my father in law who lives in Chester to see how it is "on the ground" Craptastic weather either way ..... :(

hey im 1 miles from the barn and it rained all day. . it didnt rain as hard as they said it was going to. ill keep u informed. would like to see a pefect race day and my vote is for another date? we shal see.

RC-Monster Mike 09.27.2008 03:31 AM

The weather is looking pretty sketchy for Sunday - the forecast seems to have gotten worse rather than better as the day went on(Friday). No telling what we are up against, but I don't want to race in the rain for sure.
I am open for a reschedule if needed (though the season is ending pretty quick, so it would need to be pretty soon). The other option is to (unofficially)move the location to Long Island Raceway - they have an indoor track that is pretty decent. They have regular racing on Sundays, so it wouldn't be "The Bash" tecnically, but at least all us brushless guys could race each other and hang out.
This is tough luck, unfortunately. Each year, we get folks from pretty far away for this race and it is always a treat to have a bunch of brushless guys at the same place and same time.

Electric Dave 09.27.2008 07:27 AM

I suppose it really depends on a few things...what Sunday's are available at the barn? Their site is down but what I recall from the schedule is that next week (5th) is the RCMTRA Worlds at the Barn, that day is out, the following weekend (12th) has nothing at the Barn and may be a reschedule date if possible. The next week (19th) is Lou's Half Fast Gas Blast so that weekend is out too. I have a feeling that if you want it at the Barn, we may either have to shoot for the 12th OR do our special rain dance. I can hear Blind Melon in the background...
