I just ran my NEU energy 4s 4900 lipo . I must say im very impressed . I ran it in my gtp with a 1515-1y & MM esc . My motor temp was 120, esc temp was 90 & the lipo was only 85 degree's.

How long does it take these to ship? Mine was shipped out on Monday along with some orders from other places. I got those orders Wednesday and Thursday. It is now Friday and the batteries did not show up in the mail today. They must choose the absolute slowest method of shipping...This is all I need to get my MMM combo going. GRR

Give them a call. That's the best way to find out what's going on with your order.

You need to remember that this is one of the slowest times of the year for shipping- things are going to take a little longer.

I might give them a call.

I understand that, but my other stuff, which was shipped on the same day as the batteries already came in yesterday and Wednesday. I am a little impatient as I am very excited to get her going.

Negative. But one did ship from California. Oh well, I shall wait patiently.

Grr

Now I know why it was taking so long for the battery packs to get here! It was sent on Monday the 8th and it still has not arrived. Well I checked the delivery status, and of course, it is not one of the detailed ones, it says nothing really until I guess it is here.

Anyway, I just saw that it said that it was missent! I guess it got sent to the wrong address! OMG I can not believe that! I have never had this happen to me before. So it makes me wonder if the package was tampered with or where in the heavens it could be now.:eyes: It also says that they are doing what they can to fix the problem. All I can say is that I have no luck and hopefully it gets here really soon. It also seems that just because this is the last link to get my MMM combo going, it just has to be drug out for as long as possible...

Sorry for the rant. It just really frustrates me.

Went to Neuelectronics yesterday to pick up a couple of 5s 4300's and had a chance to speak with Steve Neu, very congenial gentleman. A couple of interesting facts.: The neu batteries are not enerland or kokam cells but made to there specs in China. He sowed me the naked cells and subtle but importand differences frm other Chinese celss, tabs for one. Steve suggested pre-heating the cells before you run, upto 110-120 degrees by using one of the 12volt heater/coolers you can buy at walmart, more punch and respond better then cold cells. The neu motors will be damaged until there are overheated to 180c!

Steve is not a believer in the A123 technology, heavy because of the lower voltage per cell issues and cannot deliver the same discharge as lipos but are good in certain applications..not cars.tough to get the same mah out of the same package at this point. Great conversation and good prices on excellent packs!

Sorry for all the typos above

Interesting. I know the numbers agree with Steve, but I have to say for my "seat of the pants" fun - the A123's I've run have given just as much discharge as my Neu lipos have. Definitely not as much runtime and heavier, but great punch.

Has anybody tried the 5c charge versions? 15 min charges would be a dream!
You'd need a hell of a charger though!

highpowerhobby 12.23.2008 05:24 PM

Yes it is true...if you have charger and a power supply capable of 25 amps for a 5000mah pack etc.

pb4ugo 12.23.2008 05:45 PM

I have a plenty large power supply, I just don't know of a charger that will put out 25 amps or enough power for 4s and up packs, even if the amperage was there.
