Hernias are nasty, makes me think of that sequence at the end of Alien: resurrection when the 'newborn' gets sucked out the window...

Get well soon dude.

Pdelcast 02.09.2009 09:09 PM

Thanks guys for all the support!

I'm feeling better now, and I'm reviewing the applications as I type this. I should be notifying and shipping betas over the next few days.

magman 02.09.2009 10:47 PM

Patrick, I am a little slow to post this so....my hernia is causing me some serious pain at times and I know that sooner than later I will need surgery...I hope you mend quickly!

Hasn't happened yet guys... I'm sorry.

I had surgery on Friday (umbilical hernia) and thought I'd be back to work on Monday. Well, here it is Wednesday, and I'm still not able to sit upright for more than a few hours at a time.

It will happen this week. I got the motors all here, jsut need to review the applications.

AND BTW, I have some 1500Kv 1520 motors for Beta testing now as well. So I'll expand the beta to 12 motors -- let me know if you would prefer to test the longer, lower Kv (and somewhat stronger) 1520 motors instead.

Patrick

Hmmm - Do you suppose the 1520 would have enough ooomph to power a Baja 5b? It would certainly seem to be overkill in a 1/8 monster truck but it's got me thinking.... I would certainly do a build up and take these guys on if you think it could handle it.

emaxxnitro 02.17.2009 12:06 PM

Hope everything is alright patrick, have not herd from you in days. Hope your feeling better

E-Revonut 02.17.2009 05:07 PM

Yes Patrick I too hope your feeling better! But I'd also like to know if I'm going to be one of the lucky ones and if I'm not then who is.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 1527, personally. Dual 2200s or 1800s would work fairly well IMO (as long as you stop running instantly if something isn't right, could burn up a ESC or motor if the other shuts down).

SpEEdyBL 02.18.2009 08:57 PM

If 25-30 mph satisfies you then a 1520 should be fine.

skellyo 02.19.2009 03:03 PM

Did we run you off Patrick?

sikeston34m 02.22.2009 01:27 AM

Testing Equipment ready Captain!

Captain?

suicideneil 02.22.2009 04:05 PM

skellyo 02.24.2009 02:53 PM

Can you throw us a bone here Patrick? A little update of some sort?

Sorry guys -- I know many of you are still waiting. I've got a few of them out, but the majority are still waiting for some preliminary results before I send out the rest of 'em.

Thanx for being patient!

Lucariel 02.24.2009 04:38 PM

I read just now ... late ..
if there is still place and you need a tester Italian .....

I have a truggy kyosho st-rr, esc MMM data logger eagle-three with two temperature sensors and one for detecting the number of turns for brushless motors.
lap with 6sA123

Patrick if you think there is still a chance tell me where I can send you the mail with all my data.

Do you have any results trickling in yet? :sarcastic:

johnrobholmes 03.04.2009 02:09 AM

I got a few, and I am waiting for a warmer day to really put them to the test. My 2200 hardly gets warm in the emaxx, so I need taller gearing or a heavier vehicle. I was thinking a Flux is my only easy choice right now that can handle the power, but the LHS is waiting for them. I do have an ebike tranny being made as well, and it will bolt up. The low voltage setup may not be ideal for an ebike, but it will be a great exercise in 25v lightweight power systems.

I think a proper comparison of the 1515 1y and the longer 1518 1Y will take either nuts gearing or a lot of weight.

Hence why I would have liked to test one... :mdr:

johnrobholmes 03.05.2009 08:56 PM

Flux on the way. Damn you castle!!

Christophe 03.09.2009 04:48 PM

Hello,
I'm C/C reseller for France and Europe and I would be happy to try this new motor, I have sent an e mail, I try ...
Thanks.

jnev 03.17.2009 12:14 AM

Any updates? Or reviews/pictures from members who already got one?

jacobsjo87 03.19.2009 08:55 PM

I'll be purchasing one of these when they are ready for purchase. Any updates? Hows the tesing going?

ZippyBasher 03.20.2009 10:50 PM

Anybody?

bdebde 03.21.2009 05:25 PM

I am sure they have all been sworn to secrecy.

I don't think so..

johnrobholmes 03.22.2009 08:34 AM

nothing really to report yet. They look identical to the Castle 1515, but with a 1518 and 1520 stack length.

Oh there are ways to load a motor alright. :rules:

In the process of upgrading my E Revo's drivetrain. Traxxas cvd's are going to work with Ofna Mutilator inboard cups using RCM's Hybrid Diffs.

I'm still working on nailing down cvd's for the center drives, but the end result should be a drivetrain capable of warp 9!

I wonder where I can get a motor capable of slinging the tires off the rims?

Arct1k 03.27.2009 09:25 AM

Don't fool yourself - get a stack of the traxxas CVD shafts - Even my neu 1515 2.5d on 6s2p A123 breaks the pins after a while....

:)

:)

It breaks the pins on the cvd's?

Are you familiar with the cups I mentioned? It looks like a beefier choice to the output shafts that come stock on the RCM diffs.

I'm going to try to retain the inside cvd boot and run some heavy grease inside.

Arct1k 03.27.2009 10:37 AM

I think mike had a bad batch of outputs he send me some new hardened ones and they are holding up great with no issues at all.

And yes I can torque off the thick pin that slots into the diff output... :)

alangsam 03.31.2009 01:09 PM

jacobsjo87 03.31.2009 02:25 PM

Is there any speculation as to when these will see production? I'm planning on a project in June and this motor is what it needs.

pb4ugo 04.02.2009 01:46 PM

+1

I need to replace the Hacker in my custom Savage before summer (and 120 deg temps)!

Aceldama 04.09.2009 12:01 AM

Any news? As soon as these hit the shelves I'm buying the MMM combo for my Truggy on 6s. I'm dyin' here!

ZippyBasher 04.14.2009 03:32 PM

Come on, throw us a frickin' bone here... lol
Should have sent me one I could have put it through its paces by now.:na:

jacobsjo87 04.21.2009 10:06 PM

Anybody know anything?

Christophe 04.25.2009 02:21 PM

Hello,
I sent an e mail but I had no reply :(.

jacobsjo87 05.19.2009 08:51 PM

Any testing results yet?
