So you can get a MM for $130 and the MMM for $150, logically the MM Pro will fit right in the middle? This is going to be hell for people as indecisive as I am...

Pretty simple really:

- MM for small vehicles with little mounting real estate and want to run 2s-3s.

- MM Pro for similar vehicles but has a switching BEC, so good up to 6s on the smaller "HV" setups.

- MMM for the bigger stuff.

He mentioned 6s capability on the MM pro. So good for smaller 1/8 scale racing setups that use higher voltage.

My list has been updated accordingly. :smile:

If the MM pro is priced similar to the MM and MMM, I don't see the incentive to buy either the the MM or MMM in 90% of cases when the MM pro has all the capabilities of both (almost the MMM) and more. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the MM has almost the same number of fets as the MMM, thus nearly the same power handling capabilities. The fan and extra surface area of the MMM are what make it handle much more continuous current out of the box, but since the MMpro will have fan that is removeable, you are set for at least any 6s 1/8 scale racing setup.

I would honestly think that the MM Pro with what features it has would cost a little more than the MMM. I could have missed something and be totally out of the park on this one but just an observation. Either way, I am sure it will have a good price point and fly off the shelves.

Well - not quite . It isn't just the number of FETs, but also the design (cooling is very important). The MMM has a large footprint (as you mentioned) and has ALL its FETs on one board cooled by a large heatsink. The MM has SOME of its FETs attached to a smaller heatsink. The rest of the FETs are cooled indirectly through the copper on the board attached to the "cooled" FETs which are attached to the heatsink. I think the MM has less FETs overall vs. the MMM as well(been a while since I have had one apart). less FETs and less cooling = significantly less power handling capability.
My MMM almost never comes in with its fan on(only comes on when i plug it in) - even on a hot day. Without a fan in the same scenario, the MM would thermal(and would thermal with a fan occasionaly as well). If the MMPro has the same basic layout as the MM, I would expect similar performance. I think the MMM pro may be a good 1/8 buggy esc on 5s perhaps, but I also think it will need a milder setup to survive vs. the MMM.
