This is the G3R but don't think a maxx would be much different - The shock position means the CD can be mounted more centrally in a maxx.

with the maxx placement isn't so critical. since you have to clearance the chassis anyway it doesn't matter where it ends up fore or aft. once the center diff is in make the shafts and away you go. Maybe I'm missing something, but I know I could easily swap mine out to any maxx. You could even use any aluminum maxx center skid as the baseplate and then drill 4 holes for the mount.

That was in the days of the G2, and the G2R was brand-new. Apparently I did not expect Gorillamaxx to come out with a V3... thought the nickname G3R was smart back then...

I'd say it handles kinda like a revo truggy mix :lol: seriously, stock drive train is more of a basher thing, and the traxxas centerdiff solution is crappy IMO, so this seemed like an obvious thing to do back then. And yes, it significantly improved the handling on a track.

Sweet... I thought about that traxxas diff but it seemed a little silly to me. Nice to know you still throwing that thing around and having a good time too. :yes: What spur, pinion and KV combo are you using?

Well, when I use it to tow around the lawnmower it sports a Lehner 1950/8, some serious 5S Lipos, a 12/40 gearing on the old-style slipperential, rolling on truggy diffs this gives me something like a whooping 15mph tops :lol: but boy, that thing got torque. Easily pulls me on a skateboard, uphill even, for as long as it gets grip...

For racing duties I used a 1950/6 and appropriate gearing, you know, 40-ish, depends...

Anyway, back to topic now. This direct drive setups got a whole new appeal with the introduction of Mikes new Slipperdiff this past season, amazing setup possibilities there. Cool and easy way to convert most anything to race-worthy BL setups.

Some of us have been waiting for this much longer. I have two trucks setup that I could use this center mount for and have asked Mike about making these a few times. One just gets tired of bugging him, because we all know he is a busy man. None of us wants to get on his wrong side, but this item is one that can really do well if it is made right. He really has not been into it because I do not think he sees this as a benefit to the Maxx vehicle. I have had money set aside for some of these for nearly two years now.

yeah I dont want to email him and beg and get him mad, but this is his site shouldnt he see there are 45 sales right here. Smart money ? or just cost ineffective ?

They are coming, guys. Please bear with me. I have had a few equipment issues and time is always the enemy, but I do have a small batch about halfway through completion. :)

We can all feel alot better if MonsterMike would release this center diff mount and get it over with. I know he is a really busy guy and all but we have been waiting for this mount for a really long time already. I know some think that the Maxx line is not that popular pf a vehicle, but I think there are a lot of Maxx guys out there who still love this truck. Hey Mike any updates on this production????? Please put an end to our suffering:cry:

Well I don't know about all of that River, but from my conversations with Mike he seemed a little less than excited about even making this unit. I believe he feels like it is a waste of his time, because of the GorillaMaxx single speed conversion which is already out there to do the same kind of job. Even though some of us may feel that this can really simplify the whole center drive unit for the Maxx this production may be short lived. I guess we shall all see what the response is when it finally gets to the RCM shelves this Xmas. I hope I have enough fun money to get a few of them once he has them for sale, because I think they are going to sell like hotcakes, and may never be made available again once this run is completed. I am sure that he already has other things in his plans and wants to move forward with more exciting toys in his shop.

I can personally see that there are a lot of guys out here who really want one of these, but we are a rare special breed of R/C hobbiests who just do not want to let go of the Maxx truck. For me and my family it is all we have in our collection. I have asperations to get others, but I am not done working and playing with the E-Maxx. I hope to get a hold of a Baja 5b, a Scorpian crawler, and a few other vehicles one day.
