This is the G3R but don't think a maxx would be much different - The shock position means the CD can be mounted more centrally in a maxx.
|
with the maxx placement isn't so critical. since you have to clearance the chassis anyway it doesn't matter where it ends up fore or aft. once the center diff is in make the shafts and away you go. Maybe I'm missing something, but I know I could easily swap mine out to any maxx. You could even use any aluminum maxx center skid as the baseplate and then drill 4 holes for the mount.

You guys are bringing back some memories...
3 and a half years ago..... pre-truggy days, days of plastic spurs, LMT motors, BK controllers.... http://www.lsarc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=903 :na: funny how I dubbed it "G3R" in those days, just because it had 3 diffs... Daf |
Interesting I was going G3R as Gorrillamaxx V3 Revo - Never thought of it because of three diffs :)
I guess its an antique... lol |
Quote:
That was in the days of the G2, and the G2R was brand-new. Apparently I did not expect Gorillamaxx to come out with a V3... thought the nickname G3R was smart back then... |

Sure I am still driving. But now the truck has this setup, early slipperential http://rc-dc.ch/gallery/displayimage.php?album=9&pos=5 browse the gallery to find the very same truck in his lawnmower configuration I'd say it handles kinda like a revo truggy mix  seriously, stock drive train is more of a basher thing, and the traxxas centerdiff solution is crappy IMO, so this seemed like an obvious thing to do back then. And yes, it significantly improved the handling on a track. Thanks again Daf |
Sweet... I thought about that traxxas diff but it seemed a little silly to me. Nice to know you still throwing that thing around and having a good time too. What spur, pinion and KV combo are you using?
Alien |
Well, when I use it to tow around the lawnmower it sports a Lehner 1950/8, some serious 5S Lipos, a 12/40 gearing on the old-style slipperential, rolling on truggy diffs this gives me something like a whooping 15mph tops  but boy, that thing got torque. Easily pulls me on a skateboard, uphill even, for as long as it gets grip...
For racing duties I used a 1950/6 and appropriate gearing, you know, 40-ish, depends... Anyway, back to topic now. This direct drive setups got a whole new appeal with the introduction of Mikes new Slipperdiff this past season, amazing setup possibilities there. Cool and easy way to convert most anything to race-worthy BL setups. |
Zeen... Thanks for the info. I know those LMTs will make some serious power with very little effort..
|
Success, my time machine works :yipi:
One of the best GorillaMaxx revos around, and still is  |
Bump. Here is another group of guys that would buy a center diff:

HERE WE GO, Mike's side of the conversation only...
From: rcmonstermike@gmail.com To: kcaz25@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Monster Mike I Thought You Might Want to See This Date: Mon, 31 Aug 2009 12:45:55 -0400 OK, Zack. I will try to produce a batch of these this week and get them listed for you guys. J Mike RC-Monster www.rc-monster.com I was like "SWEET!!!" Two weeks went by so I asked again... and got this... From: rcmonstermike (rcmonstermike@gmail.com) Sent: Mon 9/14/09 12:52 PM To: 'Zack Smith' (kcaz25@hotmail.com) Almost done, Zack – ran into a couple issues, but I should have them done in a day or so with any luck. Mike RC-Monster www.rc-monster.com It's been 5 weeks since first estimate and 3 since the last... Sorry I didn't share this earlier... I though it would actually be out with the following days, I would order mine to secure it minutes after publication, then help to get the word out. Sorry it has turned out this way. Well in all sincerity, Mike how's the process going? |
I been waiting for these for over a year. I would really like to get one for my high speed project. It would truely benfit me in my gearing choices.
|
I have some money its rare, if i was Mike id have them out within the week before one of the customesr (me) spends it all on beer and smokes  you would complete me
|
Longer
Some of us have been waiting for this much longer. I have two trucks setup that I could use this center mount for and have asked Mike about making these a few times. One just gets tired of bugging him, because we all know he is a busy man. None of us wants to get on his wrong side, but this item is one that can really do well if it is made right. He really has not been into it because I do not think he sees this as a benefit to the Maxx vehicle. I have had money set aside for some of these for nearly two years now.
|
yeah I dont want to email him and beg and get him mad, but this is his site shouldnt he see there are 45 sales right here. Smart money ? or just cost ineffective ?
|
They are coming, guys. Please bear with me. I have had a few equipment issues and time is always the enemy, but I do have a small batch about halfway through completion. :)
|
Where do I send the money? Or order one in advance? My high speed g-maxx needs one of these for the ISC event in November.
|
2nd that.
I'll second that one. Just let us know how, where, and when we can pre-order this one. I don't want to miss the bus on this deal. Especially if your only going to make a small batch of them.
|
Mike- Did you make the gorillamaxx style or the standard maxx(like mine) style?
I could use one for my LST center diff build. Where's that list?? |

I trust you're making some(not necessarily all) for the standard Maxx. |

I would love to preorder one for my g3r! |
Order Form?
Is this our order form? How long has this form been there? CLICKY
$150 sounds about right. Give or take $50. RC-Monster Misc./Custom Details Select this item if we have agreed on a price for any custom work or email orders. Select the corresponding number of items based on our agreed upon price(if $150 agreed upon price, put 150 of these units in your shopping cart for payment). Custom Parts: Price: $1.00 1.08 CAD | 0.60 GBP | 0.68 EUR -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Nah, thats for agreed custom orders that you've discussed with Mike over the phone or via email back & forth- $150 is just an example price. That is fairly close to the price though, from what someone who had one made a while back told me...

I think it's great that the CD/motor-mount is going to be a regular item in the shop, but I'm sad that mine is no longer that special:cry: |

I have talked to that same person. I was definetly picking at Mike by saying all that. :na: But emails I have sent aplenty. |

Kinda makes me sick. Needless to say I'm ready for mine. |

I can personally see that there are a lot of guys out here who really want one of these, but we are a rare special breed of R/C hobbiests who just do not want to let go of the Maxx truck. For me and my family it is all we have in our collection. I have asperations to get others, but I am not done working and playing with the E-Maxx. I hope to get a hold of a Baja 5b, a Scorpian crawler, and a few other vehicles one day. LONG LIVE THE E-SUPERMAXX |
Seeing as there are 14 threads and ah forget it, so noone sees the importance. Cool Ill just buy a RD logics aluminum case for the 3905 and forget about it, WEAK MAN
