My guess is something like this from Ultimate Traxxas.com

http://www.ultimatetraxxas.com/projects/backslash/

Which I have to say, I would like to have a cheap buggy to take out in front of my house and mess around with and not have to much concern about. Really hurt when I flipped my losi 8ight on the pavement.

Metallover 10.08.2009 07:41 AM

E-Slayer would be the most boring, sad, gay, overrated release I've ever seen. It's even been done before by a few people on here. It might be a nice buggy or 1/5th but I doubt it.

gixxer 10.08.2009 07:53 AM

Somehow I think traxxas is going to make me want another rc car. In a few hours I will know.

brushlessboy16 10.08.2009 08:01 AM

I wrote a script to press simulate f5 and take a screen shot every minute or so.

lutach 10.08.2009 11:02 AM

Who will be camping out in front of their favorite LHS? So much excitement for a Traxxas vehicle, but what if they disappoint you all? I hope this vehicle is great and maybe I'll get it so my Stampede won't be alone.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Traxxas is doing something really messed up with the LHS. They are allowing Pep Boys to sell certain kits which takes away some profit from the LHS.

bigboi146 10.08.2009 11:32 AM

They may be taking away some sells from LHS's but they are most likely bring more exposure to the hobby by doing this also. So it's a win lose situation.

stum 10.08.2009 11:44 AM

Ya pepboys wont have the full line or all the spare parts.. so LHS's are not out of the picture.. they will make more money on repairs and hopups than the original purchase anyway.

I saw this Pepboys/Traxxas display also and did a double take, I guess it has something to do with the Fabtec and Lucas oil slash bodys?
I can't wait to see this new part that makes a old platform marketable again.

TexasSP 10.08.2009 12:38 PM

The PepBoys thing is old news anyway. Most of the LHS's around me lack anything resembling service, which is why I take most of my purchases to the web. If you are in a nitch market, you should be on your game and offer awesome service, or why else would anyone want to deal with you.

lincpimp 10.08.2009 01:05 PM

Our LHS is also a lawn mower sales/service shop, so they could care less about the rc stuff during the summer. They do pick up in the winter, cause the lawn stuff dries up in the winter. He is trying to streamline the brands to traxxas, eflight and maybe hpi...

Wow, that's a novel business. I've heard of lawn mowers, and movers, but never lawn movers. How deep do they dig down?

zeropointbug 10.08.2009 01:30 PM

They must flip the sod upside down I assume? :mdr:

I fixed my speeling mistake. I do know a guy who moves sod, but these guys just do sales and service on mowers.

What's_nitro? 10.08.2009 01:57 PM

I guess if you spent all those years getting it to look nice you might want to take it with you...

lutach 10.08.2009 02:14 PM

I don't know if you guys noticed, but the LHS' are hurting with this economy. My LHS is doing ok, because I mentioned to the owner that he would do better with an indoor track. If Pep Boys gets a good fibe, what will stop them from getting deeper into the hobby. I can definately tell you that Pep Boys has a lot more buying power then all the LHS' combined. Imagine if other places get greedy and wants to make a profit (Just a profit I must stress) on the Hobby without the CS that LHS' offer. Walmart anyone????

nitrostarter 10.08.2009 02:17 PM

The problem I see with Walmart entering this industry is that this industry is looked at as a higher end niche. I think it would be hard press to say that the Mfg's would give it to WalMart's demands of LOW prices and then cut them even lower. I know our parts costs cents on the dollar to make, but I don't think they would give in to the low cost giant and be able to survive.

Do you think that Castle would pass the opportunity to sell to the world's biggest store? Think about it, do you think I make my money on low volume higher price? I turned down Astro Bob due to low volume. Patrick has said he has to offer the distributors a good discount and do you think if you put all of the distributors together they would have as much cash as Walmart? Walmart is good and all for creating jobs, but Walmart has also destroyed a lot of business' through the world. They're not the only ones though, but they would pose a higher threat to the Hobby industry then Pep Boys.

My LHS bought a bunch of Pepboy's rustler's, etc bc they sold so poorly there. He told me TRX was stuck with a bunch of them after PB cancelled the deal and are now shipping those instead of the std package. Its one that comes w/ a battery and extra equip.

He didn't like it as it ruined the chance of selling a batt to go w/ it. I've seen some of these packages in other places on the web too.

I've seen some at my LHS.

Well, I have to admit Traxxas does a good job. (If there will come a good car) Even here in Europe on every forum is a topic about it and there are uncountable posts and views! But if Traxxas comes with some crap, traxxas will fail...

How long till they release it?

BrianG 10.08.2009 03:52 PM

3PM central time, which is in just a few minutes.

sikeston34m 10.08.2009 04:02 PM

Whoop! There it is!

A 4WD Slash!

We knew that huh?

brushlessboy16 10.08.2009 04:03 PM

There is a crapload of people on the homepage, my connection with the server keeps timing out

f5 f5 f5 f5 f5

BrianG 10.08.2009 04:04 PM

lol, the server is that slow for a Slash? Wow, people are desperate.

Not much to see on the homepage, I guess I'll have to wait for the vehicle to show up in their electric details page.

gixxer 10.08.2009 04:04 PM

guess they will be starting a new class along with the ofna sct.

brushlessboy16 10.08.2009 04:05 PM

Pro 2 stock

Pro 2 mod

Pro4 open

Andrew32 10.08.2009 04:06 PM

but i can tell its not a revo based chassis which is interesting. I wanna see under the body!!!!

zeropointbug 10.08.2009 04:06 PM

Traxxas wbsite ha crashed! lol

I am trying to get on, but no cigar.

brushlessboy16 10.08.2009 04:08 PM

I just got through, i think it might actually be a new platform (gasp)

Andrew32 10.08.2009 04:13 PM

i kinda like it... its based off the slash suspension, with a new chassis. brushless. NO MORE DIDNT EVEN ROLL THE OLD TRANSMISSION OVER!

is it just me or is it almost a 1/8 scale?....13.2" wheelbase.....

big step for traxxas:lol:

Byte 10.08.2009 04:13 PM

80mph wow....

Btw... isn't that some kind of slipperential?

lutach 10.08.2009 04:15 PM

Oh my...An all wheel drive slash...Wow...Is that what everyone asked for?

What's_nitro? 10.08.2009 04:17 PM

21 users viewing this thread.....

lutach 10.08.2009 04:19 PM

I'm here just for the joke of it. Will Traxxas ever do something worth my money? I have a Stampede, but I only go it to do the double battery I had planned for it. Worked out great.

What's_nitro? 10.08.2009 04:21 PM

0o 25 users now....

Freezebyte 10.08.2009 04:29 PM

Interesting, a Slash 4x4. Wonder how thats gonna play havoc with the CORR racing? I don't think racing 2WD with 4WD Stadium trucks is fair.

JoFreak 10.08.2009 04:39 PM

What I expected, sort of....
Yes it's a 4WD-Slash but no, its not based on a revo.
Still waiting for the site to work again though, want to take a closer look at the chassis.

electric 10.08.2009 04:43 PM

lol wish i could even see it, but the way yall are talking im not very interested
