ROFL @ Metallover!

Maybe that's what we need -- user submitted advertising!

ravin 11.04.2009 09:52 PM

Nice! how long is the 1518?

redshift 11.04.2009 09:57 PM

I don't even like having to say "Mamba Monster".. makes me sound like a mumbling (or bumbling?) idiot. Not Castle's fault tho :)

I think you guys could do better on flashy naming, maybe like the NCC-1701 1717 XR4ti
Type R Limited Edition zXSVT... Beauville.

Or maybe something shorter?

E-Revonut 11.04.2009 10:13 PM

Been waiting for that 1518 to come out for a long time! I have a home for one as soon as they're available, my RC8T needs more power! Can't wait to see what kind of power it lays down, eagle tree is waiting for some more testing!

redshift 11.04.2009 10:22 PM

The 50V limit I'm guessing is in the lethal range for DC?

Still that's an odd regulation.

Metal: "If 22xx stuff comes out I vote for MMMM - Massive Mamba Monster Max"

I vote shorter.. "Atomic Mamba!" Yes, with the exclamation!

The photo on the box would be a no-brainer:lol:

You won't even be able to buy one without background checks.

coolhandcountry 11.05.2009 08:59 AM

Could go with Monster of Mambas.

50V lethal?? Maybe if you stabbed yourself in the heart with the wires...

CE is just over cautious... at those voltages, the current (and heat the current can generate) is much more dangerous than the voltage.

So when will we see a HV controller(s) for us car guys Patrick. I know an airplane controller can be made to work with a car software and most wanted something like the HV110. I still have my burnt HV110 here and I know it's out of warranty, but I can send it back to you if you want to use the processing board.

lutach 11.05.2009 11:29 AM

Never mind, I just looked at my HV110 and the processing board and the PCB under it is pretty much fried.

I made a promo pic - Truth is I didn't use photoshop or any commercial software. Don't tell anyone.

Pat how well do you think these would do in a barbie jeep... 500w scooter motor isnt cutting it

Well, the car software won't work on the HV-110 anyway. It doesn't have the hardware for car software.

However, the ICE-HV-160 will have car software available soon (if we can ever get the Air version of the software done!!!)

You will be able to trade-in your HV-110 towards an ICE-HV controller... :mdr:

Sounds good Patrick. What's the word on the ICE 200? Is it a 6S or higher voltage rated ESC? If you can do an ICE-HV-160 with the car software before, I'll send my HV110 your way ASAP .

ICE-200 is rated for 8S, and has a switching BEC integrated. The ICE-HV-160 is rated for 12S, and is opto-coupled.

Thanx!

nitrostarter 11.05.2009 12:27 PM

I would love to do a HV setup using the HV ICE 160.

Opto is good. So when can I send my HV110 back? How do I go about doing it, since its out of warranty and I have no clue where the receipt is (I don't even remember where I got it from to be honest). Should I just put a note of some sort?

Now you have me thinking, my current set up in one of my truggy is for 8S, but the other truggy I can use 10S.

I'm afraid you are going to have to wait until we have released the ICE-HV-160.

Then it will be a non-warranty upgrade, which costs the same as a non-warranty repair.

Ok, I'll wait.

Wow, so much stuff gets posted while Im in bed sleeping & at work...

1. Nice to see CHC back again, been a long time dude.
2. Cheers for the pics Patrick- 1512 1800kv you say? That sounds EXACTLY like the kind of motor I need/want for my TXT-1 project- bit less grunt than the normal 1515, but the lower kv that I desire for 5s operation.
3. ICE Monster (look into my eyes...you will use that name....) available soon-ish, after the air version is done? Exxxxxcellent....
4. I forgot what #4 was.

What about ICE Mammouth or
ICE Juggernaut

Sorry for bringing this up from a day back im a bit behind in reading this thread. But I just notice a reference to a Merkur Xr4ti (or at least I assume it was as no one else would be dumb enough to use those same characters in a consecutive string)...Nice I have one parked in my garage, wonder if there are any CC parts on it LOL.:rofl:

It must be the last one on the planet... JK

Yeah I don't know much about em, but I think we can agree it's one of the top 10 stupidest names for a vehicle ever. It's one that is (obviously) stuck in my head. What's funny is I assumed the XR in your nic was referring to a Honda XR. Why didn't yo use the whole name?

They are a strange animal tho, you have some wild mods on yours?

Indeed! I've been waiting for these for a while now. The big question now is which one. I'm liking the added diameter of the 1717 but that could also interfere with gearing....

40v @ 0.01 amps is lethal, IIRC....

You would be suprised at home many Xr4ti's are actually out there, they have one the award for the most vehicles present at the Carlisle All Ford Nationals for a number of years in a row now.

It is a totally crappy name for a car...very uninspiring, but it is for some reason easy to remember

I didnt use the full name because im too lazy to type all the letters in every time I log into a forum and most people dont know what an XR4ti is anyway. Plus it didnt all fit on my license plate :intello::intello:

I have a few mods done to my car, 3" exhaust, RS500 intercooler, supercoupe computer and air meter, big injectors, spax adjustable shocks/springs, t5 trans, aluminum drive shaft, mustang cobra brakes, just to name a few.

Here are a couple shots.

Actually 10-15mA is lethal, but the voltage depends on the person. The average human body has ~10Mohms of resistance IIRC, which means it would take 100,000v to generate that kind of current. However, the body's own reaction to electricity lowers its resistance to the point where a lower voltage can kill.

redshift 11.05.2009 10:26 PM

That's pretty cool XR... but is it a Beauville? hehe.

Yeah I guess you have some mods indeed!

There you go guys, most random threadjack ever:lol:

Nice work, and we will all know what the XR in FastXR is now...

FastXR 11.06.2009 08:47 AM

Nice! VERY Nice! :yes::yipi:

I'll take one of the 1520's please! The 1520 would be an excellant 6S motor I believe. Cool and Powerful.

12 s setup is awesome.
I wish you had this out when I had my 12s setup.
It would have saved me a motor.

Ponders a another 12s setup :diablo:

nitrostarter 11.25.2009 01:50 PM

Beat me to it...

Not bad pricing on these motors! Should be real powerhouses at those prices! Good job CC. I just don't have a vehicle for those right now :(

ravin 11.25.2009 01:52 PM

So the 2200 is the only motor rated for 6s??

nitrostarter 11.25.2009 01:55 PM

No sir. Any of the motors on the page linked above will run on 6s, except for the Neu-Castle 2650.

The lower Kv's will be tons more efficient on 6s.

ravin 11.25.2009 01:59 PM

The chart at the bottom shows only the 2200 as 25v
