I think Im going to stop with my speeding...Ill stick to 4s, and make this a basher/racer..

the servo.. Mine has held up fine in my blitz, but my friend had his oval out the holes that hold the pins that all the gears stack on... as if the servo is all fine EXCEPT the plastic case... Im still using the DS1313 in mine and its great. i am going to try this new Spektrum servo the S6040. i'll let you know on tuesday how the materials are.. just trying to find a xervo that is cheaper than the DS1313 or DS1015 and still performs good and is reliable.. and not cheap chinese.... but my chinese one is still working fine too.. LOL.. maybe im just nicer to my stuff than my friends are.. LOL.

the cheapest i have found a stock chassis for the lx-1e was $70. this is a standard 6061, non-machined 3mm chassis. why the hell is it so expensive? a new chassis for my crt x2 is only $40 and it is machined, 7075, lightened and hardened.

are there any aftermarket chassis for this buggy? i haven't been able to find any, so if anybody knows of either a cheaper chassis, or an aftermarket chassis, please, let me know.

dude, i've seen this happen quite a few times. it is a HUGE pain in the ass...It even happend to me after a big ass jump. I had to replace the center bone, the chassis, and for me i had to replace the gear case and the rear arm mount.

they do make the rear arm mount in aluminum, but no aftermarket chassis. i even tried to mod a nitro lx-1e chassis, and you CAN, but it's also a huge pain in the ass and takes some drilling and dremeling.

your best bet is to get a T-bone bumper set. that lx-1E NEEDS it to keep the chassis safe. since i got that, i haven't had anymore chassis issues at all and i've had some gnarly crashes.

DwightSchrute 07.18.2010 04:57 PM

i'll also add...the only other thing that has happend to me lately has been the motor coming loose after a big jump. there is a quick fix for this.

i got one of Mike's front motor covers and tapped them to 4MM and filed the mount on the lx-1e to fit the screws. after that, no more motor coming loose on a hard landing.

DrFizz2k1 07.18.2010 06:20 PM

I had the loose motor thing.. think it was like scarlettboa's though.. the factory screws were simply not the right siaze that they should have been.. i bought the Lunsford fatboys "long" screws and it has been rock solid since...

Does anyone know if any of the motor mounts from EliteRC will fit.. like maybe the SCRT10, or the 9E or Hyper10 SC... im swapping motors in and out alot and would like it to be as simplistic as possible...

i doubt it. the hole placement for the lx-1E seems to be unique to just that design.

however, if any did fit... maybe the hyper 10 might. you might check the instruction manuals to see if any of them share the same part number for the mount.

Woo! The ultra lx1 is ordered! Along with the servo and GH tool set..Can't wait! :D

this is the list of lids i have so far that people have used :

9.5 violater
ravager
ultra lx comp
jammin x1cr
kyosho mp777
mbx

If you're bummed over the chassis costs, you might wanna hang around rc-tech's for sale forum. they have dozens of buggies/truggies and MT's for sale, daily. that's where i get my great prices.

So far, i've bought 5 vehicles there never paying any more than $200 for a roller.

e-revo roller-$170
B44 roller-$130
8ight 1.0 race roller-$200
8ight 1.0 race roller-$125
mayhem st-$70

it's definately worth browsing a few times a day.

arvint 08.10.2010 02:39 AM

Wondering...these bodies fit?
http://prolineracing.com/bodies/bulldog-clear-body-mbx6
http://prolineracing.com/bodies/crow...2.0-MP777-SP2/
http://prolineracing.com/bodies/shift-mbx-6/

DrFizz2k1 08.10.2010 02:54 AM

that's a no, a probably and another no.

on the first one.. you see how low the rear mount is... that is WAY lower than the Ofna.. Look at the MP777.. higher rear mount.. the thing that bothered me about that one was it looks tight where the MMM sits...

the last one, again, rear mount is too low.

arvint 08.10.2010 02:56 AM

ah darn...that one you posted on ebay look like it'll work though? the blitz mp777 one?

DrFizz2k1 08.10.2010 03:55 AM

I bought 1.. i'll let you know as soon as i get it and get it painted.

arvint 08.10.2010 01:41 PM

Ok! Get mine in 1 day...can't wait!

arvint 08.11.2010 09:08 PM

Got it! Assembled it to...just one problem:
The MMM esc wire that goes to the esc cant make it all the way, so i have to put the RX backwards, so the the spot where the esc connects to the reciever is closer to the hole in which the wires come through, but now I cant close the esc box lid, as the lid bends down..what to do? Im sure other MMM esc people found a way?

DrFizz2k1 08.11.2010 09:48 PM

You need something like this.. your LHS will have them... I had to use one on the servo, but the ESC wire from the MMM was fine...

DwightSchrute 08.11.2010 10:47 PM

yeah, i used extensions on both of mine. they cost about $4.

Arvint, let me know if you can't find one at your lhs... i have a whole bag of them if you need a couple.

arvint 08.11.2010 11:24 PM

Thanks guys! I'll check the lhs..

Took it out on the first run...It was great! Handled like no other car I ever had (coming from a emaxx and slashes.. :P )..seemed like the center diff leaked a little on its way here...as there was some grease on the chassis..AND i lost a 17mm wheel nut..but using my emaxx bl editions..an it works fine...AND I somehow broke the stock servo saver thingy..and now im using the one that came with the hitec..and everything is good to go! great fun! :D

arvint 08.12.2010 01:31 AM

Want to refill the center diff...whats the easiest way to refill it?

DrFizz2k1 08.12.2010 01:36 AM

you broke the arm on the servo?? i think im using the one that came with the ds1313...

you need to check the center diff seal.. wipe it all down... see if its tight and see if it sstill leaks...

i used lock tite on the wheel nuts... but check them often... it seems related to the wheel in use... aka wheels havent come loose but stock and ebay have.. proline havent either

arvint 08.12.2010 01:37 AM

yeah..the arm..well, the teeth that connects to the servo grinded out.. O.o

Whats the easiest way to take out the center diff?

DrFizz2k1 08.12.2010 01:41 AM

Oh.. Did you go fast?? did it go straight?? do you understand now?? LOL

Its like any assembled kit dude.. YOU have to check the nuts and bolts before you run to make sure the starving chinese worked dint mess it up... LOL..

as for the diff... 3 screws on the bottom of the motor mount.... 4 screws on the top of the diff.. it'll all pop out easy enough..

arvint 08.12.2010 01:46 AM

Lol! It worked fine at first..and then it just stopped turning...but no biggie...used the one that came with my hitec and its good to go! :P

Working on the diff now..
Man..never had a car like this! It's so...untraxxas like... LOL :P

DrFizz2k1 08.12.2010 02:10 AM

LOL... likely wrong tooth count on the servo horn... might have felt ok.. but was off enough to strip after a bit of abuse..

yes, so untraxxas like.. thats a good way of putting it.. LOL.

arvint 08.12.2010 02:11 AM

woa..put the diff together but its jammed..darn..

wooo...im a idiot ;p

Got 10k oil everywhere :P

did you get the diff fixed?

the servo horns all look like they'll fit, but they don't. they'll squeeze on and then strip if they aren't the right model for the servo. they're all labeled by a letter. just match the servo to the letter in the manual and you'll be good to go.

the better solution is the aluminum servo horns. i use them in all my buggies. dynamite makes some really good ones.

arvint 08.12.2010 01:30 PM

I did.^^

And I did...I used the H horn for the hitec. Its ok though..my hitec horn that came with the servo is fine though..
Gonna go pick up a wire extension and im good to go! Can't wait!

DwightSchrute 08.12.2010 01:32 PM

glad to hear

arvint 08.12.2010 01:49 PM

Thanks for the recommendation you two! Love this!

DwightSchrute 08.12.2010 01:51 PM

interested in a 30T pinion? :yes::surprised:

arvint 08.12.2010 02:08 PM

30t? O.O Isn't stock like 14? No more speeding for now... :P

DwightSchrute 08.12.2010 04:34 PM

LOL......yeah...i haven't done any high speed runs for a long time either....now, those gears are just collecting dust.

DrFizz2k1 08.12.2010 06:49 PM

new body arrived today.. the goofy no name Taiwanese team titan one.. look good.. feels quality.. very thick... came with window masks, some stickers... rear shocks finally arrived too.. so much to do tonite on teh buggy front...

arvint 08.12.2010 07:42 PM

Shocks? Tell me how you like em..Want to put the ofna shocks on the slash (gotta shorten the rear though.)

DrFizz2k1 08.12.2010 10:56 PM

I have a thread in the Buggy forum..

arvint 08.13.2010 01:13 AM

Sweet^^

And...my zippy hard case lipos...the hard case is splitting O.o... No jumping or crashing...hm...Should I just CA it back together? Both of them are splitting half way on the left half.

DrFizz2k1 08.13.2010 03:21 AM

If they arent puffing, you can reglue them.. then secure them in like.. your slash.. as tight as possible and let the glue set up properly... next trip to your LHS, get a couple of feet of shrink wrap and wrap around the hard case packs.. EVERY hardcase i have ever used eventually split (not my new SPC 6000 30c ones YET (But i shrink them from the get go though) but since i started using the shrink, no more split packs... or if they do split, i dont know about it... lemme know if you need a picture.
