I have a question. How about a can that is not anodized? Perhaps just Castle anodized on it? Green doesn't always fit my build color scheme but silver or black would be a nice option.

No. Absolutely not. Learn to love GREEN.

Election day releases for these sensored monsters??

nitrostarter 12.04.2016 09:11 PM

Looks like the MMP is getting an update too. Will be the Mamba X, waterproof 1:10 scale with the AUX wire.

Patrick, if you need a beta tester, I'll volunteer my services with a good write up

Yeeeeeees ! :party::party::party:
saw something in the Mamba Firmware release notes

I guess it is too late to volunteer for a beta tester

Right now I believe we are waiting for samples of a 2300kV and a 2800kV 1406 motor.

Thanks!

1406 2800KV ? brillant !!!! :yipi: like one

brainanator 12.07.2016 09:45 AM

2300Kv on 3S is my range of choice for scalers! Can't wait to get a green motor on a rig, with the new Mamba X!!! Very excited!

nitrostarter 12.15.2016 12:05 PM

Whats the ETA on these motors?

Not long... we haven't received our samples yet, but it won't take long for approval once we have them in hand.

Thomas Porfert 12.15.2016 04:26 PM

Just to be clear, Patrick was referring to the new kv options being discussed.

We have received and already started shipping the 1406 series and 15xx series sensored motors (motors only, no combos available yet). The 1410 and 1415 motors are expected in early January as well as combos with the Mamba X with 14xx series and Monster X with 15xx series.

Thank you Thomas!

I realize now that my reply was as clear as mud. :whip::lol:

nitrostarter 01.18.2017 01:39 PM

Thomas how's the ETA on the 1410 motors?

Thomas Porfert 01.18.2017 06:17 PM

We received the combo boxes for the Mamba X and 1410/1415 motors yesterday. The last update I received said the 20th of January for the motors.

So if there are no shipping delays we should start shipping the backorders for motor only and Mamba X combos some time next week!

I finally got to play with the 3800kv (Installed in an Axial Bomber) and I was tickled pink by the performance. The low end throttle control was superb and it seemed to run cooler compared to a sensorless version.

Great news! Got a 3800 on backorder for my Bomber as well. Looking forward to it!

Also, thanks for playing the 12 days of Christmas giveaway. I scored some good swag.

whitrzac 01.22.2017 06:14 PM

A 1410 is too small for a bomber:na:

I picked up a 2650 to run on 4s in mine, it should be "entertaining"

whitrzac 01.23.2017 07:49 PM

My 2 new 1512 motors came today.:yipi:

What's the first thing we all do when something shiny and new comes? Take it apart of course:yes:

Now for the nekid pics:eyes:

The sensor assembly is interesting...

I don't think the back was suppose to come off, it has epoxy on it, but didn't put up much of a fight. If so, castle needs to use better glue.

whitrzac 01.23.2017 07:53 PM

Are there any plans for lower KV 1406 motors? 2500kv, 3500kv, etc?

Nah, the 1410 will be just fine in the Bomber. I did think about grabbing a 1512-2650 since those are readily available right now...

nitrostarter 01.25.2017 12:00 AM

Hemistorm made mention of testing other kv's in his videos in the Havasupai.

Currently testing three different 1406 motors, 1900kv, 2280kv and 2850kv. :party::yipi:

I got to play with the 2850kv running 2s on a fully hopped up Axial AX10 with rear steer using a Mamba X. Ohh boy, what a beast!

Yea...not intended to come off, but you seem to have managed just fine.

Mmm, look at all that copper on the motor terminals. No losses there! And check out that double silicone conformal coating on the sensor board!

Now put it back together, slap it in a car, beat the snot out of it and let us know how it runs!

You'll be happy to hear we received the 1410 and 1415 sensored motors yesterday. They are currently running batch testing to verify they're good and we should start shipping motor only backorders to end users today!

Pumped, UPS will be here Wednesday with the 1410

nitrostarter 02.27.2017 06:02 PM

Patrick, any leaky info on the which kv's are coming in the 1406 model yet? I know we talked about it here and I saw a pic of Hemistorm running a 1900kv.

Nothing "official" yet, but there are several Kv's we are testing from 1900-3800 in the 1406.

Thanks!

nitrostarter 02.27.2017 06:42 PM

Come on Patrick, there's 1900 different options in that range

True. Here's a hint:

The 1406-4600 is a 1 turn motor

The 1406-1900 is a 2.5 turn motor

nitrostarter 03.02.2017 12:01 PM

So 1406-3700 and 1406-2800 as well?

I can't comment on that.

nitrostarter 03.02.2017 03:16 PM

I promise not to spill the beans...

The 1900kv should be awesome on 4s too.

whitrzac 03.02.2017 03:45 PM

I need this in my life...

the 15xx size motors draw a lot more than I expected in a crawler, runtimes suffered more than i expected.

Since kv is inversely proportional to turn count:
1/4600=217.39uKvT
1/1900=210.53uKvT

Average=213.96uKvT

(The change in uKvT is probably not truly linear, but for simplicity I will assume so since I only have two values to extrapolate from.)

Therefore, a 1.5T should be around 3100kv, and 2T should be around 2300kv?

1/(213.96u*1.5T)=3100kv @ 1.5T
1/(213.96u*2T)=2300kv @ 2T

Yeah, I was bored.

Beans spilled on a 1406-3800kv on the old facesbook

nitrostarter 03.05.2017 10:22 AM

1406-2280kv
1406-2850kv
