Your gonna have to post some pics on here when you get around to it mate :)

Just given the car a test run with the new batt mounts etc, handles a lot better, couldn't make it tip over while cornering - the rear just kicked out into a nice slide when I pushed too hard, which is exactly what I like for bashing. Some excellent powersliding on gravel now. Much more level in the air, its ready to go down a BMX track. Plenty of power, but not quite the top end I'd like (i'd estimate its in the low 30's), 14 cells should fix that though.

One thing I've noticed about the Savage, is they steer a heck of a lot better than the Emaxx. My Emaxx has a Proline system, teflon pillow balls etc but the steering wasn't anywhere near as responsive as my Savage with the same servo.

Those are trays is exactly what I was lookin' for...

Serum 09.28.2006 12:26 PM

I sure will get pics up when i finish it RTS, no worries..

aqwut 09.28.2006 01:18 PM

We'll be waitin'....:)

Serum 09.28.2006 01:28 PM

plan is to make a 'bag' from a safety belt from cars, make one side open, the bottom can use an aluminum insert for mounting it onto the chassis, and the open side of the bag can be closed with velcro..

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 01:30 PM

Interesting idea, never seen one like that before. Definately get some pics up when you make them :)

Serum 09.28.2006 01:32 PM

Yeah, need to figure out where to buy some of those belts.

i would like to get some new ones.. Let's see.. Neighbours car!?

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 01:34 PM

Hehe, think they might notice if you only took the passenger one? :D local scrapyard maybe? For prototypes at least.

neweuser 09.28.2006 01:35 PM

Get one from their back seat! Or salvage yard!

Serum 09.28.2006 01:37 PM

Yeah, scrapyard.. only open when i am at work.. let's see if i can fit one in between my appointments tomorrow

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 03:36 PM

Reckon the motor would heat up much if I changed to an 8XL wanderer from my 9XL purple can? On 14 cells with my current gearing taking into account voltage drop etc that'd net me 40mph, which is my target.

Btw Serum you were right, the stock shocks are good for bashing, going to stick with them unless I get a deal I can't refuse on some LST2 ones or something. For some reason it doesn't bottom out off a 5ft jump, but is soft enough to go over the rough terrain I set my Emaxx up for just as good. And the Emaxx bottomed out from a 2ft drop.

Serum 09.28.2006 03:40 PM

Did you get the LST setup from the UK company?

Thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated.

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 03:43 PM

Haven't got the LST ones yet, was talking about the stock ones performance.

Yes I'm giving serious thought to the conversion the british company makes, least they'd get here within a day or two :) Looks solid enough, just the shocks are so expensive..been offered a full set inc postage for £50, plus £20 for the mount kit..oh so tempting. What do you think?

aqwut 09.28.2006 03:43 PM

I really do like the LST... It's so F*cking easy to work on....

Serum 09.28.2006 03:58 PM

Perhaps i will toss my savages out of the window and try an LST.. i like them

I can also buy a CFD converted... LOL

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 04:20 PM

Think you've got a good enough throwing arm to reach the UK? :)

Think I'm gonna put some LST2 shocks on it..mostly because..well.why not. They look very cool, apparently are a lot stronger than savage ones, and should make it handle a little nicer. Did I mention they look cool on a Savage? :)

Squee... that's not a bad word... it's an actually good one.... :)

Rtsbasic 09.28.2006 04:56 PM

Its a very common word, when your driving a car, and it hits a tree :D :D :) Both with RC, and real cars..

neweuser 09.28.2006 05:04 PM

It was me! :)

squeeforever 09.28.2006 05:08 PM

Yea...it was him ^^^ I don't swear, damn it!

aqwut 09.28.2006 06:01 PM

I'm sorry... my deepest apologies squee... :) hahaa

aqwut 09.28.2006 06:04 PM

For sure.... or if you run straight into the curb in the winter and your stock e-maxx shatters like glass.... :)

Serum 09.29.2006 01:28 AM

At 60mph anything shatters like glass..

i think 70 pounds is a good price.. just hoover around on ebay to find them cheap.

aqwut 09.29.2006 05:30 AM

that stock E-maxx wasn't goin' that fast.. lucky if 30Mph.... ;)

Serum 09.29.2006 06:07 AM

Doesn't it do 55 mph in stock form believing traxxas?

aqwut 09.29.2006 07:11 AM

hahaha.... ya know.. the only thing wrog with the e-maxx is the cr*ppy diffs.. since UE and FLM came out with the 1/8 diffs.. I love the maxx trucks... but the savage is so tough from stock... my LHS doesn't carry any HPI Savage parts... his walls are filled with mostly traxxas parts..
