I meant more agressive than the average driver and still not enough to get pulled over.

Redline and stuff falls under my "drive it like I should" category - which I will do when I'm sure there isn't any cops around (and the environment is right - ei, empty street). Redline is 6500 with the Revlimiter at 6800, but you can rev it to 7k in the first 3 gears because you will have shifted before it would cut off.

Also, at 3k secondary fuel injectors start opening up, and 4k they open, so its in the power. Power is generally 4k+

Secondary fuel injectors? I think you mean secondary intake runners.

No, its fuel injectors. Dont think secondary intake runners have been invented yet.

Here is the lower half of a nissan QR25 intake manifold. The 4 gold colored plates you see function like throttle bodies, there is a vacuum driven solenoid that opens these valves at about 4500 rpm, allowing the effective runner length to decrease quite a bit. The VQ uses a very similar set up, but I couldnt find a good picture of it. It might help you to research a little before disagreeing with someone.
And VQ35s only have 6 injectors.

With all that torque coming in right off the bat, something has to give - be it traction, or parts!

No different than doing it with an RC car....Emaxx's are a heavy beast with a ton of torgue, and thats why you see so many twisted drive shafts on them.

I hear that - My 4Door Diesel weighs in at a little over 7000, 1/4 tank fuel without me in it. Here is little preview what them heavy diesels can do....

mwe-maxxowner 02.21.2007 09:42 PM

that's what i'm talkin' bout! We own a banks'd up diesel. Chip, intercooler, exhaust, turbo housing, downpipe, that's just what comes to mind.

Then here's mine. 460 bored 60 over (472) towing cam (not exactly sure what so don't ask lol) edelbrock performer intake, k & n, glasspacks, overload springs, paint, wheels/tires, billet grille, 800 watt 12's, 6.5's, 1000 watt amp, ummm, that's most of what I've done to it. It's mine, there's none other quite like it, I've put a lot of hard work and time into makin' it MY truck while in school too, and I absolutely love it! (if u can't tell)

Bdebde, nice cars! What is that? I'm 95% sure its a Ford, but 1. back then, they all looked alot alike, and 2. since I can't see the grill, I can't tell. I'm just gonna guess and say a '32 Ford Model A...

Here's my Sunday Ride.I built this from scratch and painted it myself...sorry for the poor pics.I took these before I had a digi-cam.Started with a bare frame and some napkin sketches ,113cu in S&S V-Twin Super G carb 2 1/4'' straight pipes.Soft tail frame stretched 2" with a torsion bar rear suspension ,fat bob tanks stretched 9", glass rear fender with frenched license plate holder and flush led tail lights,FLH front fender welded to brackets and rivets flushed, painted House of Color Black with chameleon flames...to be honest it hasn't seen daylight for some time and right now sits covered in my garage.I was run down in the street by an agry woman :031: in a car a couple years ago and riding is less fun than it used to be :007:
It has a problem with snapping drive belts..too many ponys I guess so the kevlar belted system I'm using now is eventually going to be changed out for a wet chain drive. It's pretty exciting when the belt snaps because you goosed it too much at 80 mph on the freeway and it wraps around the clutch basket :026:

I said I dont think...keyword think. Secondary injectors are common, I have seen a few v8s running 32 injectors. Never seen one with 16 intake runners though. :028:

BP-Revo 02.22.2007 09:11 PM

When I get a pictures of it I'll post up my bro's Lancer Evolution VIII. Its pumping ~450hp. Makes my car look VERY slow. He can break the wheels loose even with 4wd. Its awesome.

Look at a nissan VK56, I believe they have a similar system to the VQ/ QR (with 16 runners). And I believe a lot of toyotas V8s use a similar set up. I know secondary injectors are somewhat common, but theyre pretty much a domestic and early 90s turbocharged japanese engine thing. I know the original RX7 turbos used secondary injectors, and I believe older turbo supras and all trac celicas did the same. Secondary injectors are typically used as a band aid for poor tuning/ fuel metering, since the big injectors required to feed a big v8/ powerful boosted engine nearing its redline didnt have the precision to control the idle mixture very well. Modern injectors are capable of much smaller pulse widths, so now I think even the domestics are moving away from the double injector thing.
I know you said "think", my only point was you disagreed with what I said and you were a little misguided. If you "knew" that dual runner manifolds didnt exist, I wouldnt have even attempted to explain this to you. Sorry if my first post came across a little rude.

BP - Those are awesome cars - i had the Evo VIII a little while ago - My local dealership did all my upgrades (covered any problems under warranty also). My car was the test vehicle for the dealer - they started modding several evos - that car made sick power - Mine would break all 4 loose in first gear - had to sell her - made way too much power, handled way to well, and stopped to good for someone like me who cant control their foot. Decided to stay on the earth for a while rather than under it. But i do miss her terribly at times.... (Sigh....)

HotnCold 02.23.2007 07:33 PM

Ill take one of dem ford gt's please - have it prepped and ill be down in a bit - LMAO - those are some bad arse cars - was behind one a little way back - all i saw was lotsa huge rubber and the air dam and then lots more huge rubber - he was an older gentleman - leaning the gas hose against it - ( could of killed him ). Then drove off slow and sloppy - shoulda car jacked him and represented for all the enthusiasts out there... LOL j/k

BTW - i see you have a vid from my bugatti in europe - LMFAO

Mike.L 02.23.2007 09:19 PM

wow, guys you have some nice rides. i have a honda 92 prelude with a new air intake.

boss 302 02.23.2007 10:28 PM

lol boys i was just messin with ya. Im only 15 years old so none of those are mine yet. the 32 ford is actually my uncle's its been his 15 year project but it is almost done. as for the GT and the M3 well i only will have very limited access to.
Now for my ride http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...Photo-0090.jpg
its a 93 ford ranger with a 4 litre V-6 and a 5 speed. It has the short bed and regular cab and as you can see it is lowered 3 inches in the front and 3 1/2 inches in the rear. As soon as i get the money or the engine goes i am going to get an engine out of a Mustang Cobra. supercharged and 390hp :) :) :) As for now the only hp increasing i have done is a new exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series muffler(didnt want to do too much to it until i get the cobra engine).

BrianG 02.23.2007 10:49 PM

Wow, some nice vehicles here.

Mine is just a '05 Mazda3. A whopping 163 ponies! :) The pic below isn't an actual picture of the car, but a doctored one found online to look a lot like it. A picture right now would just show road dirt and my winter wheels/tires.

http://scriptasylum.com/forumpics/mazda3.jpg

And a couple shots of the trunk where the audio equipment goes (minus the sub):

All covered up with cooling grille.

The actual equipment.

RideIcon 03.23.2007 12:48 AM

na its got national leaf springs, it actually handles pretty good, the only problem is you cant see anything within like 15 feet of the truck, its got some little electric steps that come out when you open the doors. but the cops harass me in it, and i've lost my license with the street bikes and doing stupid stuff, and the trans grenaded on the truck so its just sitting at the shop untill i come up with the cash to fix it

oh and the crx in the picture, it isn't mine its the race car at the shop, lol.
