mckrill 02.11.2011 02:01 PM

FLM had the kindness to replace the parts!!! I'll have some building to do this weekend - always nice!

Jahay 02.11.2011 02:16 PM

yes but dont you have to pay to ship your item there and then shipping back???

mckrill 02.11.2011 02:34 PM

I didn't have to ship the damaged good back, but I had to pay for the shipping & that's totally OK to me.

This build is the coolest build around dude. You must have a lot of patience and skill to fit 12-14S in a 1/8 truck. People ask me which is more powerful, electric or nitro, and your truck is my answer. Keep it up!

If you're truck puts out 9000 watts of power, and it weighs about 7 kg, I worked it out to be putting out about 1700 HP per tonne. Haha! The Mclaren F1 puts out 599 hp/t.

Now thats cool.

mckrill 02.18.2011 10:20 AM

Thanks FR Rayward. Nice to hear it's appreciated!

The shitty weather came here again, so it'll be some more time before I can run it again, but I needed to strip it anyway and this time I'll put the water cooling in again:yipi:

What motor put out 9kw? Was it the Lehner 2280 or do you have something else now?

mckrill 02.18.2011 11:09 AM

I guess the right was to put it is "pulled from the Lipos". It was the 2280 on 14s anyhow. I have some logs were the peak draw are over 10kW as well, but what actually turned out as power on the shaft is unknown. On the Typhoon the logger showed around 6kW.

That's awesome how the drive train stayed intact...
my 2280-5 Hi-Amp tore trannys, diffs and twisted custom 10mm CVDs..
Great Job, again..

Bmr4life 03.18.2011 02:48 PM

Hey MC, is your motor mount adjustable?

mckrill 04.19.2011 03:39 AM

Bmr4life: Yes, the motor mount is adjustable by adding shims under the brackets.

There has not been so many upgrades, but I have been working on the truck for some time now. A lot of parts has been replaced now and I have put the water cooling system back into the truck and made some new wiring etc.

I will get back with video and data when I have had the first test-run.

mckrill 04.19.2011 03:41 AM

I found out that I had the parts to make a complete truck for the kids by using old parts...
This project is ongoing and I'm not sure if to start a new thread or just post pics here.?
The car will be a stretched SavageX (my own custom made CF chassie), central differential, The Typhoon 780 motor and a set-up allowing 6, 9 or 12s Lipo..
