Dude, you broke the calculator! I get a whole bunch of ?'s instead of any calculated values now.

BrianG 06.05.2008 04:04 PM

That's a feature, not a bug!

I forgot to FTP an updated page. Now it works. Sorry guys...

You can get this info from motocalc.

Or from my program, just use cursors and limit to power loss on the motor based on heatsink, i.e. no heatsink, finned, Mike's clamp, Novak's or custom...

Update: Added the Slash ratios. Basically the same as Stampede/Rustler, so it was easy. Also did a little restructuring of the help system (which is transparent to the user), but if you get errors or unexpected messages, let me know. Basically what I did was remove that huge list of help messages from the library file, and put the messages in the specific pages where they were used. Originally, I thought I would be re-using more messages than I ended up doing. Oh well.

Artur: Yeah, I'm gonna have to dig that out again and take a look then. I was really looking for the manufacturers recommended max power. I know that Neu used to have them listed for the various series, but not since the restructure of the website.

Brian

Any chance of getting a couple of the popular medusa motors added to the calculator?...Like the MR-036-060-2000V2-5?

BrianG 06.10.2008 10:33 AM

Twenty-four of the 36mm motors isn't enough? I suppose I should have have listed the model name as well...

ok, I added "Medusa" to the model numbers. Happy now?

Brian, don't know if this is the info you're looking for (or how accurate).

sure glad you added that winky..wouldnt want you to get any warnings---->

yes thanks for the adding medusa for us noobs----->:yipi:

Thanks rabosi! I added the continuous ratings for the Neu's based on the page you provided.

I also add Feigao power ratings, but that was kinda fudged. I took the data from Feigao's datasheet. I figured an arbitrary 35k rpm max speed and divided that by the kv (to get voltage), multiplied that by their "max amps" figure, and then rounded up to the nearest 100w. It's not perfect, but it should be fairly close. And the power figures work for all winds of a particular series (S, L, XL) so good enuff!

Bustitup: No, wouldn't want any warnings. But the mods here aren't post nazis, so I don't think I have to worry. Besides, if anyone got warnings, it would be lincpimp.

My name shows up in every thread one way or another...

I do like the additions to the speed calc page, probably the best thing you have (ever) done Brian.

Haven't updated program in long-long time, but still can be helpful. Motocalc sample file, can be updated from motocalc website.

It is a good thing that you start adding power ratings to your calculator, but you cannot draw max amps at top efficiency (~35k).

Arct1k 06.13.2008 10:42 AM

Brian - Any thought to creating a tire size list for the calc?

BrianG 06.13.2008 11:03 AM

Arct1k:
Yeah, I can add that, but only if I can get a large enough sample to be useful. I would need:

- tire model name
- scale used on (8th, 10th, etc)
- outer diameter

If I can get the data for 5-10 tires, I'll add it. Just reply to this thread with the details.

A lot of times, people say an idea would be good, but then don't provide the data I need, so the idea gets scrapped.

Artur:
The link to the program has issues: First, the forum is in a language I don't understand  and it requires me to login. Do you have a different link to it?

I understand that. The power rating is just there for the data table page really. The calc doesn't do anything with this number since the current drawn is an arbitrary figure, therefore meaningless.

Trying to resolve issues, apparently something happen to original files... You not suppose to have any problems and foreign characters :)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
