When is your speed run and where? If you have any other info on the esc it might be worth posting it----if this combo just won't work, it would be better to discover that now.

If Bob or Steve have questions about the controller, I will have them contact you privately at this email addy.

I have the order ready to go.

My hv 4.5 already taxed my maxamps 5000 mah batteries and a I imagine a 1.5 turn would have the capability of drawing three or four times as much current even with only 2s, compared to a 4.5 turn on 4s.

Maxamps don't count in my (and many other's) book and all and I mean all Maxamps don't even come close to what they're rated for. My packs have seen upwards of 180A+, I will also have 30C and 35C packs on the way and it should be fine. Most of the higher quality cells that I use are good for bursts of over 200A and for the few seconds that will only be needed for the speed runs everything will be fine.

As soon as the motor(s) come in, I'll start the runs. I've been testing with a 4.5R and with 35/69 gearing in my TC3 it went only 65mph in a short test. The 200A ESC is on the way and it should be fine with the 2 winds mentioned. If that ESC isn't enough I'll just find a way to strap the big dog Schulze 40.160 and let it all out. I can place the order right now for a 1.5T and a 2.5T, but they must have kevlar wrapped rotor (Or any other high strength fiber such as Spectra) and the strongest magnets on them as well. Have someone who handles the orders contact me via e-mail and I'll either call or e-mail the appropriate info for them to get this done as soon as possible. I'm really serious about this and if there's anything Bob or anyone else would suggest for the motor before they get built, let us know.

Regards.

Just replied to Bob Novak and now lets see if the 1.5T and 2.5T can be done so I can set the standard for 2S lipos speed. This will be very fun to do.

Hi Lutach....I have forwarded your comment to Bob and Steve.

I think you missed a couple of my posts above:

We will only wind a 2.5T HV Pro motor

We will not wrap it with Kevlar/epoxy, but the magnetic material in the HV rotor is our highest temp magnet and it is the only rotor we (have) use in the HV motors.

When do you plan to run this and where?

Arct1k 09.11.2008 05:09 PM

Just use 2 of the 30c 5000 mah in parallel - you can take 300amps continuous!

I just answered Bob. I know you mentioned the only one made will be be the 2.5T, but see if the 1.5T can get done as well. So your rotor assembly without the Kevlar wrap can handle high RPMs? I'm only asking about the Kevlar wrapping, because my 4.5R has a Kevlar wrapped rotor. As soon as I have the motor(s) are here I will start running and the location I go to is brand new paved road and it's wide and very long. Here is one of the videos I made there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaquBD-lr6E.

Bob said that will do the kevlar wrap.

snellemin 09.11.2008 05:21 PM

hmmm getting more interesting.

TexasSP 09.11.2008 05:23 PM

This is getting interesting for sure.

Thank you. What about the 1.5T. I can't get over having one as well and I won't be sleeping too good if it doesn't get done. If you don't have the magnet wire in stock that's needed, I'll be more then happy to get it.

Darn it. I should have kept this as private as I could . Oh well, you guys don't have a 200A ESC that has dual mode for sensored and sensorless operation .
