I have no idea what the driver does specifically. It might fix everything (including your resolution mismatch), or nothing.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to update your video card driver at the same time, but I would get personal help with that.

Is the video driver upgrade exspenseive ?.

It's free.

You probably have either an ATI or nVidia card. Or it may be integrated into your motherboard, but still probably one of those two.

Okay i'll have to contact my friend who gave me the computer . Is it worth buying a new video card or will the driver upgrade be enough ?.

Arct1k 12.05.2008 02:19 PM

I doubt the driver will do it - a new card should cost about $100

Just look at your desired price point...

I was just saying the driver because depending on the age, new versions may support more of the widescreen and/or oddball resolutions.

A new video card may not be an easy option either. Most of them now are PCIe, while older ones are AGP.

lol, all this because of Youtube doesn't look quite right. You're gonna end up buying a whole new PC to match the monitor to watch YouTube!

Im just asking is it woth it . Dam cut a pimp in traning some slack  I found it's the older videos on you tube that seem a bit off . I'll ask my friend about the free drivers . I do think im going to look into a wire less mouse & keyboard , to take advantage of all the table space i now have .

Sorry What is the spec of the rest of your PC?

Google CPU-Z and run it - take a snapshot of the main screen and post...

Im looking to replace my wired keyboard & mouse with a wireless setup . Im just looking for a basic wireless setup & not looking to spend a fortune. If anyone can show me a few choices i would appreciate it . I was looking on newegg but some of the cheaper ones had only ok reviews .

I've always loved Logitech stuff. I use a wireless keyboard that uses AA batts, and they last months. However, the mouse tends to go through batteries fairly quickly, so I like to have a charging cradle to recharge the batts when I'm done.

As long as you are within ~6' of the receiver, distance shouldn't matter.

That's about all the input I have on that subject.

Yeah, that's fine. Pretty much any cordless model will work. The more expensive ones just give you features you may never use; things like extended range, fancy buttons, etc.

rchippie 12.06.2008 11:57 PM

Brian what do you think of this one ?.
