Well, EVERYTHING has a price if the buyer wants it bad enough. This isn't a FS thread, but just for giggles, the GTP is yours, minus servo, motor, ESC, BEC, and rx for $1,000.
|
a thousand dollars, OK but i want the servo motor etc ? no f/s thrad just playing, but iffin ya do want to p[art with It lol
|
lol, yeah. If you change your mind.
Seriously, after running the two speed with mech brakes and no reverse, I MUCH prefer the single speed setup. It's simpler (wiring and lack of servo/linkages), and I NEED reverse. |
Just an FYI!!!! :lol::lol:
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i.../274972665.jpg lets see it!! or least post pic on your site.. throw us BONE... |
Lol, you wanna see pics of a stripped down truck? I usually save the pics for the final product, or at least stages where stuff is made. Don't worry, there will be pics.
So, no one know of any shocks that will fit my requirements: 135-140mm long full extended (hole center to hole center) to 95mm fully compressed (40-45mm throw). From 24mm to a max of 34mm diameter including springs. If there was enough data like this, I'd add a "shock data" table to my site. A lot of people do custom stuff and it would be nice to have measurements for a bunch of different shocks so we can get an idea what fits. Heck, I may just start one with what I have and let people submit their info... |

After all you suffer through all of our builds at there many different phases so it only fair you return the favor.. Have a great on Brian.. |
lol, too bad! You're just gonna have to wait. Besides, if you want to see a stripped down truck, just go to any other XT8 thread.
This setup is gonna be my typical thing: top plate/brace (like the GTP and MBX5/Corr); 5s battery on one side, Neu on the other; some type of custom rx/BEC box; and probably just get the MMM combo. Nothing special really. And yes, I'll be using an external BEC even though the MMM has one - I still don't trust the built-in one... |
still not trusting the v3 bec ? Im still rolling 2 v1s and a v2 and no problem what so ever...I emailed CC to trade them in for V3's but I dunno they work fine so why lol
|
Yeah, I know. IIRC, I haven't seen any V3's with BEC failures yet, but I'm just looking at the design, location, etc. Besides, it won't hurt anything since I already have a few BECs laying around here anyway.

 Any new updates Brian
|
Leave the 808 shocks on the Xray. Would be stupid IMO to change them. There some of the best shocks made!
PICS! |
Pics now. :diablo:

No, no updates yet really. Did some custom stuff, but still waiting on parts. Just ordered an RCM battery tray, MMMv3, and a Medusa 36-80-20-2000 last night. I was gonna just get the MMM combo, but a 2200 motor on 5s is a bit fast on this truck, even geared 48/12.
The rear shocks are still up in the air. The 808 shocks will remain in the front, but the rears need something with a little more travel. This is being set up as a basher, so it's gonna sit up higher and the extra suspension travel is required. Be patient, when it's done, pics are sure to follow. But really, it's nothing special - just the typical truggy setup, and when you've seen one, you've seen them all... |
Cant yuo just put the rear shocks in the lower holes on the shock tower to get a little extra suspension travel?
|
OK, conversion is complete! I got the roller from another member here. Pretty good condition and included a bunch of new spare parts. Where needed, I got new stuff here and there.
Nothing special about the conversion, just the usual fare: RCM motor mount, battery tray, MMM, Medusa 36-80-2000, 5s2p 5Ah lipos (Mike's), my usual stiffening custom top plate, Spektrum DX3r, geared 48/12 for ~36mph. At a suggestion from Dafni, I ended up using big bore shocks from the Jammin X2 Truggy kit. I didn't get quite as much suspension travel as I wanted, but still quite a bit higher and suspension is stiffer than your typical race truggy setup. But I wanted this to be more of a basher and will occasionally play at the track, but I doubt I will ever race it. With 120k in the CD, it wheelies nicely, but not so easy that I can't get on the throttle. OK, enough talk, here are the pics: http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_1.jpg http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_2.jpg http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_3.jpg http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_4.jpg http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_5.jpg |
