No, you will not have any problems with the RCM mount - the best quality on the market. Unless it got bent somehow or something.
And about the ESC . . . I don't like that mounting location either. One of the best spots I've found is on top of the steering servo. You usually have to make a plate for it to sit on, but it works awesome and keeps a lower CG as well as balances the weight of the battery on the other side. Like this: http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...Revision01.jpg Sweet - this is my 800th post!! |
congrats on your 800 posts!!
i cant get over how clean your buggy is bro. seriously. do you have a before and afer pic from cleaning and the track? what do you think of my battery sitting up like that? unfortunatly i got the wrong size and i cant lay it down like yours. although the battery stays in there tight, i just dont like it but if it is 100% fine sitting there like that, i guess i am ok with it. |
Here's a couple from a dusty day at the track:
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/IMG_3592.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/IMG_3594.jpg And about your battery - what do you mean about it sitting up? Is your tray not long enough or not wide enough? If it's not long enough, just cut it in half and stretch it out. That's what I had to do if you look at my photos! Oh, and I'll try to find some more photos of a muddy day at the track. |
oh, i just found out what the differance is with a digital radio vs not. 20% 40% 60% 80% and 100%... not a smooth transition when you first take off. i have noticed in the past with the radio i have. Futuba 3pm, that i have no gentle acceloration. only an imidiat jerk. is there NO WAY to adjust this radio and the MMM to have a smooth start so i dont keep jerking when i start? it is either sitting still or going 4mph.. no creeping if ya know what i mean
|
Try adjusting your throttle curve when you setup your MMM on the computer.
|
well the batttery tray isnt wide enough. i am like 10mm too narrow. soi have a peice of foam inserted in there to kinda cushion the distance i am short when i have it sitting like it is.
|
throttle curve isnt something i ever messed with.. i guess i can take a shot at it.

I would have Mike make you a battery tray. If your lipo is sitting at an angle it could hit the tray edge on impact. Any point impact on a lipo is not good as it can damage the cell - even if it has some foam there. Or you could turn your lipo on it's side and see if it fits. Sometimes the battery is wider than it is tall. Just a thought. |

i dont think you understand what i am trying to say.. take a look at these 2 pics.. i ordered a tray from him and i got the wrong size. :( but maybe i could cut it in half and extend it out 10mm or so???

Oh, I see :intello:
So you can't lay it down flat? If not, that layout will work fine. Not ideal, but won't hurt anything. |
yea, i am just a bit short. really really sucks. but if this wont hurt anything i will leave it.
do you think it would be worth it to cut that tray in half and extend it out a little bit? i mean, would it make that much of a differance? i am definatly going to move the MMM though. that is a must. |
I wouldn't cut the tray lengthwise. The contact points are on one side and I think it could cause a problem. I think you just deal with it until you can get another tray or lipo. Is this a weird sized lipo or is it just a small tray?
|
i simply got the wrong size tray. and i see what you mean by cutting it. i would have to cut it length wise and width wise to make it fit properly. again, if it causes no damage as it sits i will leave it. i just dont like having to put the foam on the side every time and i dont want it to come flying off.
|
I would try to cover as much surface area on the lipo as possible though. If you could insert some kind of piece into the battery tray that was taller than the foam, then I think it would keep the battery more secure. Does that make sense?
