already have the batteries in rear and esc and tranny towards the rear( backwards) still nose heavy, but not as bad

crazy-what kind of track do you run? big jumps? tight turns? long straights? how much does it weigh?

oval like small trackwith a medium to small type jump and a triple woop-de-do that i can double single.

i would go with about 40 weight oil, gold springs in the front and green in the rear with p2 rockers, all 4 caster clips in the front (arms all the way back), 1-1 1/2 degrees of camber in the front, 0-1/2 in the rear, slight toe out in the front with a slight toe-in in the rear and of coarse, the one that shouldnt have to be said, arms level. thats just a starting point but should be pretty close.

I'm satisfied with the steering for now, so i'm not going to mess with the toe and caster right now but i'll try the suspension ideas you mentioned. as for weight, it is a little heavier than a nitro revo so it is a little sluggish on the suspension

you might want to check out what steve slayden says to do to them. just go to traxxas' website and look at how he says to set it up as well as the steering modifications and stuff.

I have done half of the steering mod but the wheels are rubbing the steering linkage so no need for more steering.I don't think Slayden's setup would work because of the distribution of weight is different from nitro. I think its going to need an all new setup from nitro, maybe different from the revo conversions just looking for ideas from those with experience. Thankyou for the suggestions and any others that contribute ideas. I'm wanting to see what others are doing to get a direction for the new chassis and if Mike wants to give his G2R setup to the discussion that would really help

I don't know much of Mike's G2R setup, but I did wrench for him a bit at Monster Madness III in CT back in October when he ran the prototype G2R. This was the truck that can be found in pictures here in another thread, and was also pictured on Traxxas' website in a Slayden article.
For batteries, he ran 5s (2s and 3s packs) 3200 Kokam/FMA lipo packs. The 2s pack was on the motor side and the 3s pack was on the opposite side. The packs were held in with Gorilla straps.
The controller was mounted along the center line of the chassis.
For tires, he started with Response tires and switched to BowTies.
I rebuilt the shocks with 50wt all around...I don't remember the springs.
I swapped from some aluminum (Integy, I think) rockers to the Traxxas P2 rockers.

It's not a whole lot of information, but I hope it's useful. :)

This was during the qualifying day (Saturday) - he may have changed more for the race day (Sunday).

Crazyjr - Thanks for the track reports! So comparing the G2R to the E-Maxx, what are some of the main handling differences on the track? What is better? Anything worse? Thanks for your feedback.

I mounted my rx pack to the rear on the other side of my motor on the battery tray, you prolly run ubec but its movable wieght to help balance. I am going to run the springs recomended for the LT rockers with my P2 rockers and use 60 in the front and 55 or 50 in rear, I have not had much testing been raining

Pro 2 rockers for sure. I like 60-70 weight oil a little better than the 50 weight, too. Also, I used the stiffest pro2 springs available on the back, and the next stiffest springs on the front. I may try the same spring rate front and rear, though(the G2R turns WAAAY better than a Nitro Revo). I also use an aluminum servo saver(part of an Integy SS, with the proline single arm) and the stock SS spring(heavy duty with the aluminum saver parts is too stiff-no "saving" involved!). I like my ride height just above arms level for a rough track, and as low as possible on a smooth track.
Bowties work great. I actually like a modified 40 series bowtie the best(trim the rim to make it similar in size to the regular bowtie, but with less sidewall and less weight!).

Mike, would you think blue springs in front with 80 wt oil and 80wt green in rea is good for a 14 cells brushed g2r?

Thank you mike. And yes it does turn in better than the revo before. As far as handling compared to an Emaxx, i can only compare to a stock E, but it is way better in the suspension dept., more travel, more stability and more funand i haven't found a good setup. I'm only running the titans and a EVX and 12 cells and i can see the potential for nitro domination. Next step is a BL systemand good batteries (mine are junk)I'm leaning towards a 9XL with a warrior bk and a pair of scorpion 6400's should put it in the 35mph range and close to 40 min. run time. I don't want to break records, I want to play with nitro's and winand this chassis can do it. major props to Mike and Gorilla for making this truck a reality.
