Good to know that you are not giving up on the motor, with truggy diffs it should be good. BTW I like the hot rod picture next to the mill and lathe

suicideneil 03.20.2009 08:49 PM

BL brick, the best kind  :mdr:

Funny, I swear you said you wouldnt make custom chassis once upon a time- but people would pay good money to own ones like that, just look at the Maxxler chassis....

BitHed 03.20.2009 09:23 PM

Great work Ryan! Haven't checked this thread for a few days, and look what you've created..

One fine looking lightning, the best i've seen so far! and it's not even finished yet.

Knowing both you and your skills I know this will be another jaw-dropper.

(check out his site, the airsoft guns he makes are from another world) the patience and skills are incredible

Is there any way we can help you overcome your lipo-fear btw? I know a good counsiler.. (kind of a cyclops, a truly great guy)

Candyman2 03.21.2009 09:14 AM

Hey guys, thanks!

Bithed, im just a PM away if you want a quote :)

All gone together rather well, first gentle run was surprisingly good, it felt a bit flat in my garden but out in the open it does actually move rather well. I didnt expect theis motor to work well on this voltage but its fast, no other word for it really.

Ok, now to the shell, lsp shell is a bit hard to find so I bought a Proline Crowd Pleazer for a kyosho ST-RR, I just need to jiggle the body posts a bit.

Wow thas just plain awesome. If you are going to keep nimh 18 cells is the way to go. I would hate to see someone try this setup on only 12.

Serum 03.21.2009 11:19 AM

very nice Ryan. you got that aluminium from Chronos?

The only thing you might want to change on that setup are the shocks/ shocktowers. there sure is some room for improvement on the stock suspension

Aceldama 03.21.2009 11:29 AM

That is a work of art. Excellent job.

BL_RV0 03.21.2009 11:40 AM

Beautiful.

MetalMan 03.21.2009 12:18 PM

Nice work! Turned out excellent, especially considering the crude initial cuts .

Only thing I have to add: be careful with those tires. A buddy of mine's truck has ripped through two of them.

Takedown 03.21.2009 12:54 PM

Looks great CM! But you need lipo's man...
