no i do not have the spiral cut gears, that just changes your ratio, you dont acually need to, just use the speed calc. youll be fine

I was told by my jamning agent that if I dun change the gear it won't be optimum.

Now my CRT is on 62spur with 14t, so if I change will be 50spur 11t pinion wo changing the F n R diff. U think better then my present setting?

you were told that because they want your money:lol: i originally had a 13t with the 62t spur and i hated how big and noisey it was so i switched to a 46t kyosho plastic and love it, put a 10t on there at first but the motor hit the center brace, then put the 11t and it fits just fine. my buddy runs the same gearing on his crt with the spiral cut gears, it seems no different to me, i dunno the ratio that the spiral cut are, but they are not a necessity imo

Lol I used a excel sheet n calculated that using x1 CRT gear 43/13 is faster than x2 CRT 45/10 using 46spur n 16 pinion y?

Changing the front/rear ring and pinion gears isn't an absolute necessity - as long as you have matched your motor, battery, gearing, etc. to the gears you have, you will be fine.
Even though it isn't NECESSARY, I think it is a good idea to use the truggy ratio diffs(if it was my truck, I would use the truggy diffs). The spiral gears are stronger, quieter and smoother, for one. For another, they allow a much smaller spur while retaining a larger pinion, which will be smoother again as well as last longer.

U mean x1 CRT is not using truggy diff for front n rear isn't it 43/13? Or u meant 45/10 is better?

X1CRT has 13/43 ring and pinion gears in the front and rear diffs - same as most buggies. The x2 and most other truggies use a spiral gear set that has more reduction - this allows use of a smaller spur in the center to achieve the same or similar overall reduction (which is preferred IMO). :)

mike, this will fit the losi 8ight B right?

It should drop right into the Losi buggy and truggy - minor clearancing may be needed to allow space for the slipper, though - the plastic top brace will likely need minor dremel work. :)

A Savage will require a pretty tight slipper setting, but it should work fine - of course a way to mount a center diff into a Savage is another story. :)

Thanks Mike for the rapid response. Glad to hear that it will work in a heavy truck like Savage. Is there any plan to produce this center diff mount, http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10233 ? I know this is for the emaxx but I bet it would not be hard to use this on a Savage with a center skid plate. I can see that alot of people are interested in this mount as well..
