Is there any updates?
Pictures that you could post? |
Somewhat of a teaser:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../isometric.jpg The project of mine from which the above picture was taken has used up a good portion of my free time, but now it's pretty much done :rules: and will be turned in tomorrow. As a result I have nothing physical to show updates of. And the shock bodies are set to transparent in that image. |
Looks awesome MM!

And here's more... I would have showed the ensuing images in a single video file to demonstrate its mobility, but the truck assembly within SolidWorks is apparently too complex for my laptop (shouldn't be the case though - it's custom made and has good specs). So pictures will have to suffice:
Front suspension: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...Pro/front1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...Pro/front2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...Pro/front3.jpg Rear suspension: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0Pro/rear1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0Pro/rear2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0Pro/rear3.jpg Steering: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../steering1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../steering2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../steering3.jpg |
Rendered wheel showing model tree (to get an idea of what I did to make the wheel):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0Pro/wheel.jpg Drivetrain: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...line2-Copy.jpg Belt routing and steering bellcrank: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ering-Copy.jpg |
I want one.

Any updates on this?
|
Yes
Today the truck went on its maiden voyage! First impressions: it's very quiet, except for the motor and tires, and the rear belt skipping. The front belt is tensioned by no less than 2 springs, and the rear belt has a fixed tensioner which needs to be tightened. Previously the belts were skipping A LOT but has been mostly fixed with two rods connecting the front/rear shock towers to greatly reduce chassis flex. Pics should be up tomorrow, and vid will be posted sooner or later. |
