^ Qwa? You must not be hammering the throttle, my stock GT-2 balloon easily and I put extra CA glue on the things before its maiden voyage.

lol perhaps I need to reset my endpoints on the TX

Might be goin at 80% throttle without realising it (That's happened to me before)

And we both know thats a very big no no according to Castle.

fastbaja5b 05.19.2009 11:17 PM

I better change it then before any more runs!

Ironic to see Castle has not commented on this.

if you made a revolutionary new type of computer....would you like to listen to people b***h about it?
or would you like to listen to the few people who had an eagle tree recorder running during the failure?

Damnit boy what do you think this is a Castle Creations support forum? .. oops :)

Seriously if you bought a Camry, and somehow managed to fit Landcruiser wheels on, do you think you'd get warranty when you blew the engine trying to gun it in 5th gear?

Thank you 5b for some real world logic!

...Your beliefs won't change the facts and physics, if you choose this road you will likely find out the hard way (with your wallet) that RC is NOT an "out of the box" affair. These companies naturally have their 'extreme' promotional videos to woo and yes, even mislead the consumer that these trucks will take unlimited abuse 24/7 and all you gotta do is charge lipos.

You think it's odd that Castle has not responded when you are making an example of a THIRD party's experience, who looks to be a C.F.M.

This hobby is worth the time and effort it takes, getting worked up over someone else's stupidity is not.

This is to the last two posts! Classic, both of them!

Would 48/15 be alright on 6S with big joe's? The manual recommends 25t pinion on 6S what's up with that?

I'd start with that, but CHECK THOSE TEMPS!!! If you don't have a temp gauge get yourself a Duratrax Flashpoint. I bought one 2 years ago and it has been extremely helpful. If you notice it's getting too hot too fast then you've got a gearing problem (most likely overgeared, it'd be tough to undergear a Flux with Big Joes).

The manual gear chart just indicates what speeds you will get with what gearing, it is in no way a recommendation to run that gearing or an indication that the equipment will last.

Heavier/larger diameter tires require less gearing to maintain the same load on the motor. Any setup requires x number of watts to move, if you add more weight to the tires that number of watts required will go up. To get it back to the original output you need to lower the gearing!

I have no idea why people have such a hard time getting their minds around this... If you add more voltage the motor spins faster and the tires go around faster too, and if something goes faster it must be producing more power...

Thanks man, yeah I've got a flashpoint. What's too hot for the motor, esc and battery just to be safe. :)
