Did you inquire w/Mike ???

lambchops 09.08.2009 03:03 PM

Yeah he posted in another thread on here they dont fit which is a bummer and leaves only the full conversion route. Ive just ordered it for my dads car. What battery are you running on your 9E as Im not sure which motor to purchase with 14.8V 4 cell 25c lipos? Im getting an MMM and prob a teken motor but not sure of which speed,,, im thinking 1700 but not to sure

Bondonutz 09.08.2009 03:06 PM

I'm running 4s 25-30+C
Going to the track this Sat and plan on trying a 8000mah 3s 25C to see how it likes it.

Marvin 09.08.2009 03:34 PM

On 4S I'd use a 1900 or 2000kV motor. The maximum RPM is right in the 28000-35000rpm efficiency range with these, and it makes gearing easy.

I used to run a 36-60-2000 Medusa in my Hyper 9E, on the same cells that you have, geared 15/40 and it was excellent. I would now go with a 14T 1st however, which is nice, since they include one with the kit.

It's such a bummer Medusa aren't around anymore.

lambchops 09.08.2009 06:15 PM

Yeah thats the same motor i have Marvin, medusa 2000kv. Would the Tekin 1900 be the same power.. They are much bigger motors arnt they physically i mean..

Cain 09.11.2009 02:02 PM

Tekin's motors seem to have more pop to them than a comparable Neu motor.

I went with the 1900Kv motor Tekin setup in my Hyper 9E. Previously was using the Neu 1512 2.5D/F motor.

Anyone got pics of the Hyper 8.5 arm mod, close up comparison to the stock Hyper 9E upper a-arm?

lambchops 09.11.2009 02:18 PM

Ive ordered it all now from Mike, Tekin T8 1900, MM3, Hyperion VX 5500 4 cell. Cant wait to test it out!!

Cain 09.11.2009 02:36 PM

will the 5500mah fit?

lambchops 09.11.2009 02:49 PM

I bloody hope so!!!! Shit just presumed it would.... now im worried

Cain 09.11.2009 03:06 PM

Does this sound about right for the pack you ordered:

HYPERION G3 VX 4S 14.8V 5500mAh 35C/65C LIPOLY Pack
Voltage: 14.8v
Capacity: 5500mAh
Wires: 10 awg
Internal Resistance: 4.5 ohm
Dimensions: 163mm x 47.5mm x 42.5mm
Weight: 588g

lambchops 09.11.2009 03:46 PM

The battery tray is 175mm long (might stretch to 178mm - that is absolute maximum though!). Width is 46mm and you can have practically any height due to the bodyshell design.

Spur is a 40T, and you could fit probably up to a 44/46T in there - main problem though is that it uses very small diff cases (short ones), you'd be hard pressed to fit a bigger one in there - it also uses small outdrive bearings.

It will fit, considering my previous measurements. Looks like you'll have to mount it with 42.5mm side face down, and have it 47.5mm tall. It won't have any fitting issues, due to the body design.

lambchops 09.11.2009 04:43 PM

phew! thanks Marvin I was just about to order one of Mike's trays to fit it hehe
