will definately be getting video of the buggy when it is running.

i am getting (4x) 7.4 volt (2s) Poly R/C 20C (30C burst (30 seconds)) 3700mah Packs. going to be running 14.8v to the Nemisis 12s.

i also purchased (2x) 11.1 volt (3s) Poly R/C 20C (30C burst (30 seconds)) 3700mah Packs for another project.

i ended up getting a Duratrax Ice charger to charge these bad boys.

sounds good

I'm happy to hear that you got the ICE. It's a very nice charger, and I think you'll like it a lot (except for no backlight).

Sylvester 04.19.2006 09:44 AM

Yea, i plan on getting the ICE too, just because of its cell capability! But it does stink that theres no backlight.

joostin420 04.19.2006 11:06 AM

yeah not being backlit kinda stinks, and also that there is no blinking light or anything to tell you that it is charging or done being charged.

getting a 25 amp power supply from Radio Shack to power this thing.

It does beep at you. You can change the beep as well. It is loud enough for you to hear. Unless you jamming on some music while charging the batts.

squeeforever 04.19.2006 06:23 PM

any opinions on the fma balance pro hd charger? it can charge up to 6s at 10 amps. https://www.fmadirect.com/Detail.htm...044&section=38 i was thinking of using it with there adaptor and some 3s 8000mah 3s2p packs or some 12000mah 3s2p packs.

MetalMan 04.19.2006 07:43 PM

That charger doesn't have an LCD display, which can be an inconveniance if you want to know things like the current voltage of the pack, how many mah have been put back in, etc. There also isn't a way to precisely set the charge current, which isn't exactly a good thing. If you don't mind these things, then go ahead.

squeeforever 04.19.2006 07:57 PM

is there another that is currently out thats comarable? it needs to charge at at least 8 amps.

MetalMan 04.19.2006 08:38 PM

Not really. The next step is a TP-1010C, which can be gotten for under $200 now. At 6s, it can probably charge at about 9amps (10amps at 5s).

Hey joostin. If you do not mind. What is the wheel base on that? This project is INSANE

Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

i bouth the hyperion charger i believe it's eosi 50 or somehting it charges 1-14cell or 1-4 lipos

joostin420 05.08.2006 09:41 AM

wheelbase is 13.75"

well, i finally got to test the car this weekend. used some crappy 3000mah 6cells packs wired for 12cells - even with the crappy cells this thing is fast.

well the CVD's did not stay together too long; the pin came out on both of them. going to try put them together again and locktite them again and see how they work out, but most likely will be going to the stock slider driveshafts with steel output yokes.

FYI
I have been using the ICE for about the last two years but my ICE really struggled when charging 4 cell LiPo's. I called ICE technical support and they could not identify the problem other than to send it in and have them check it out.
So, I picked up a Supernova Competition charger and it is great. It's like the v2.0 of the ICE. Same menu structure but it has a backlight LCD, discharges up to 20A and handles 4 cell LiPo's much better.
Here is the link to the charger if anyone is interested.

Hope this helps.

Found some more cool 2wd 1/8 buggies, they must have a class for them over there, both rwd and fwd(traction avant). Some really interesting custom work.http://www.rcmag.com/reviews/categorie/4x2/4x2.htm

Edit;deleted thumbnail, seemed to make the thread really slow for some reason, was of the funky looking front drive one with the trailing arms though.(Le traction de Sebastien Philippe)
