Here is the final version of my E-Maxx  !! Of course I need to test the new upgrades (Supershocks, KnuckleHeads and Plastixs ejector pins) but I hope they'll perform great I don't want to spend more money in that MT !
I lowered the height of my maxx to avoid destroying the shocks during big jumps, but normally the Supershocks overcome everything aren't they !? "Some" pics now : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070883B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070848B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070849B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070878B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070877B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070875B.jpg |

Finger crossed :neutral::mdr: |
I love my new E-Maxx
I did 2 bashing sessions this weekend. I didn't break something despite all the jumps !! I used my Turnigy LiFe packs for the 1st session, they were already puffed before the session (I stored them 3 months almost fully charged after the last really short session, they didn't like that...), and after the session it was worst so I threw them in the garbage... I used them maybe 3 times :whip: So for the 2nd session I used the ProTek 2s 50C 5600mAh packs (Link) that I bought for my ERBE. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070832B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1070833B.jpg They are great ! With a 65/22 FGR I get 30' runtime (almost non stop) and good temps. As they are lighter than my 3s LiFe packs I didn't notice a huge difference regarding power and handling. So I keep this 4s setup I like it a lot ! And the transmission suffers less  It was a pleasure to run my E-Maxx ! I wish I feel that everytime ! :yipi: Can't wait my vacation at the end of the month ! |
So you like the Supershocks?? Good stuff! Will we get a review. I like the new look and batteries. Its a shame you had to throw the others out.

!! New vid !! :yipi:
Back from holidays in Brittany with an express rock-crawling vid ! It's perfect to fall asleep quickly :mdr: : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg3J48kZIYk. My summer workstation was really cool : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080026B.jpg And my monsters were really wise  : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080050B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080049B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080055B.jpg My maxx isn't the most appropriate RC car for rock-crawling (stiff springs, low height, sensored BL system...) but it was a pleasure to drive it in my favourite region  I confirm that my ProTek lipo packs are really really great ! But I'm not happy with my Imex tires. As they are inelastic they often pop out the beadlocks, and the rubber isn't very sturdy. So as soon as I damage them I will buy Proline Masher tires, the best MT tires ! I will make a real bashing vid in September don't worry  Note : don't forget a big bottle of WD-40 when you drive near sand/sea  |
How do you like the Super shocks?
|
You're insistent Zack
I like them ! No, I love them  Otherwise I need to do more big bashing sessions but so far they hold out everything. The shafts are big, the plastic components are sturdy, and with the UE towers my suspension setup is perfect ! |
Great build! I love the black anodizing. I hate all the red and blue stuff thats on the market... I was happy to see GH start to make orange stuff for my MERV.
|
Nice build, allways great to see that I ain't the only one with a passion for the e-maxx.
|
I LOVE the E-Maxx
Obsolete chassis design, lots of weak points, but I can't get rid of it  Your racermaxx looks good, I need one of these new 3908 bodies ! |
New body !
I did it, I bought a 3908 body  It looks better than the 3905 one IMO.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080139B.jpg The rear is wider, the "trunk" is longer and the look is more aggressive I like that ! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080149B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080150B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080151B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080152B.jpg |
What's new under the body ? (nothing special )
- I replaced the RPM axle carriers by the stock ones to test them. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080137B.jpg I hope the built-in steel rings are effective because this area is fragile, look at my RPM carriers : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080106B.jpg - I added HPI washers between the axle carrier and the wheel hub to reduce the slop (it's not my idea but I didn't find the thread where I found that ) : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080126B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080129B.jpg - Mashers for the win ! IMEX Swamp Dawg are too heavy and don't work well with Maximizer beadlocks (they often pop out it's really irritating...). http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080153B.jpg Next step : VIDEO ! I hope soon... |
Looking good, I dig the Brushless body too. Can you let us know about the Protek packs, I have been eying them, but haven't really known or read anything from someone with them.
|
oops sorry, didn't read close enough, I just saw your comments under the pics of them.
|
I didn't run my maxx since my summer vacations  But I'm tuning it perfectly for the next session (I hope soon...).
- I replaced the Traxxas drive cups (not sturdy enough for my driving style + lipo setup) by HPI ones : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...6276&search=Go (add this if you want to use them). Theoretically they are excellent ! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080161B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080163B.jpg - I dismantled all my wheels & tires to tape them and to balance them with the HPP wheel balancer. I've never used such a tool but I wanted to try. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080174B.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080177B.jpg Beautiful and top notch kit with all the info required, as usual with HPP  I noticed all my foams were worn down on the outer side : http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080164B.jpg (Left : used. Right : new). The other side isn't as worn but it's not better. So I will tape my Masher tires to avoid that. I ordered new foams and next week if I can I will tape and balance my Mashers. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../P1080180B.jpg |
