i installed the losi mount earlier today, and i find it to be an amazing improvement over an already great design.
i LIKE that the top screw is what holds the whole motor in. i NEEDED a quick change mount. the losi's mount sucked, and elite's has been long gone. I used Mike's motor cover and drilled the 3mm holes to 4mm so it would be stronger on higher jumps. i threadlocked everything in and took some high jumps this evening. WOW...this mount is STRONG. no flex at all. imo, it does fit better than the first mount too. it took a great beating and stayed strong. i need more of these for my other rides. this is a GOOD improvement. i also would like to get a hold of a few more of those black aluminum spacers used in the bottom hole. it would be nice to be able to have 2-3 motors ready with them already assembled to the motor so i can just unscrew the top hole and drop a new motor in. Truely, i think Mike has out done himself. this is a great piece of engineering. |

I dont think my 8ight can be any more rc-monster-ised |
i just came back in from doing more high jumps.....
WOW.... is about all i can say. i almost never come back in without a motor coming loose. today, it stayed solid as a rock. Guys, i can't say enough about these mounts except get them while you can. they're gonna be the hot tip on any track soon as soon as word of mouth spreads. these mounts are versatile and very very strong. |
Hey brushlessdoy, got any pics with the lower plate installed? This motor mount looks very promising!

sorry to keep invading this thread, but i just bought another losi mount. i'm gonna take the one i have to the track today and spread the word.

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these bad boys!

Doubt very seriously that one of these will be made for my Z01-B, not enough of us out there. But hopefully one will be made for my buds D8 and D8t.
|
Are these mounts already out for the RC8T? A friend of mine wants one.

Can a mod change the nameof this to 'updated Rc-monster motor mounts'
|
Good idea! I don't even like reading that name in this forum

Well First, I would never doubt Mike, His Engineering, His Designs, His Machining or His Products...there is no one or nothing better, PERIOD!
Second, I have (3) of the "Newest" BL-Conversion Motor-Mounts; (2) for both of my XRAY XB808 2009-Spec & 2010-Spec 1/8 Buggies and (1) for my Kyosho MP777-WC, and I beat the ever-living crap out of them and have never had a single problem with them...they are ABSOLUTELY Rock-Solid! The "New" Design is not only better and easier to work on, they are just as strong, if not stronger, than the "older" design! Third, I have (2) of Mike's BL-Conversion Revo/Slayer Motor-Mounts, and they have withstood more punishment than any Revo or Slayer should ever have to deal with, but they are still perfect! Sure...my very first Revo Motor-Mount got bent, but it had nothing to do with the Mount itself, I didn't set the pinion properly so it caught the slipper and the Crazy-Strong Torque of the MMMv3 ESC & CC/Neu 2200kV Motor torqued the motor forward & sideways, bending the motor-mount slightly (but Mike replaced it and it has stayed perfect since). And Lastly...I just recently bought one of Mike's Universal Center-Diff Motor-Mounts for a Custom Supermaxx Build, and I plan on beating the crap out of it as well, and I have no doubts that it won't bend, bind, break, or do anything except remain PERFECT! RC-Monster Mike ROCKS!!! |
