Damn. Worth a try though. My only other sugestion is to call tech support and they coul help fix or replace it. Sounds as if you've made a valiant effort sorry to hear no dice. Mine did the same cogging thing from a standstill to wot with the new beta. Went away after going back to last non beta version. Never had problems with the bec though only run 3s. Will try 2s and see if I get any results.

Really I feel like the mmpro works much better than the orange stuff because it's so adjustable. Just need to fully understand what each setting does and how it will affect your setup. Good luck hope you can figure it out and ditch the orange paperweight.

Well I said I would post up my results of adding a CC BEC to a 4s setup using the MMP/1512 1800kv with a HiTec 7945TH which is known to need more amps at stall which the MMP ESC internal BEC cannot deliver.

I installed the CC BEC straight to the servo and just brought the ground and signal wire back to the receiver in a Y adapter.

I am still using the MMP BEC to power the radio and transponder. So all three wires from the ESC are plugged into receiver.

Glitch is gone:whip:

Now only if Castle would include this in their CC BEC instructions for those of us using HV servos

I just went back too the Havok Pro SC as I couldnt get the MMP to work the way I wanted , plus its sooo much cleaner looking without the extra wiring of the BEC .

Not too mention we SHOULDNT HAVE TOO BUY AN EXTERNAL BEC TO RUN THIS ESC ! :diablo:

slimthelineman 10.20.2010 10:05 AM

You don't. Mine works great on the internal bec on 2&3s with a 550 motor in my 4x4 slash. It's a bit ridiculous to complain so much IMO. Not going to change the fact that you couldn't get it to work. It's a 3 amp 6 volt bec. Not suprised it won't push a monster digital servo a receiver and a transponder. If the Slovak works better for you then run it and be happy. But it's not castles fault you coulnt get it to work. Not really sure why everyone uses these high draw servos in a sc anyway. I run a 360z and it's more than enough. And if the mmpro is in an 1/8 scale well your on your own cause it was designed for 1/10 applications. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but it gets old reading how some can't get the mmpro to work when it works great for most. Novak has always made good stuff too I just choose not to run it for personal reasons. Whatever the case may be the only real solution is to run what works for your setup.

Dude chill out :surprised: , I did try a servo with a lot less draw than the 9100T , still had the same problem , MANY people have reported the same problems as I have , just look at the other forums .

I am also not some newbie just getting into electric R/C , been into R/C in general for 30+ years and racing for 3 so I kinda know what I am doing

I am NOT bashing Castle products as I run them in all of my 1/8th scales (Mamba Monsters) and they are rock solid in them . Heck I even tried a Mamba Monster in my SCT and guess what ? It had NONE of the problems the Mamba Max Pro had running the EXACT same motor and batteries I have been using all racing season .

Maybe something is wrong with mine ? IDK ..... But the "Slovak" as you call it is working AWESOME and yes I am very happy with it

Bashem -- If you PM me with your info, we can get you a replacement to play with -- see if the issue is with your specific unit.

Thanx!

Patrick

Wasn't tryin to ruffle your feathers bashem. Just wanted to point out that you do not need an external bec to run the mmpro as your statement implied. As my previous posts indicated it would seem you do indeed have knowledge pertaining to the hobby and did eveything in your power to get the mmpro to work in your setup. My brain to mouth filter is pretty much non existant so you will have to forgive me for being so blunt. The only real solution is to run what works for your setup be it novak or whatever. Who knows we may come to find it was just your specific mmpro unit in the end. Whatever the case may be many people have had great luck while others have not. I have seen the posts as well on other forums and dealt with people personally at the track with the same issue. The people that came to me at the track let me work it out and I got all but one system working normally. All setups being slightly different I reall can't say what causes it exactly, but from my experience lightening the load on the bec has worked.

BashemSmashem 10.20.2010 04:06 PM

No prob , I just wanted too explain myself as the whole experience with the MMP has left a bad taste in my mouth and was very frustrating .

I have emailed Patrick back with my info so hopefully I can get this ESC swapped out for a different one and I will install it as soon as it arrives and report back .

I still think Castle's ESC's are the best all around and deffinately have the most bang for the buck though .

slimthelineman 10.20.2010 05:57 PM

I feel your pain dude, I went through some teething pains with the mmm to say the least. It is frustrating but castle is a company that will hand you a pack of stride gum to vanquish that awefull taste forever. Trust me, once you get the pro to work for ya you will never look back.

BashemSmashem 10.22.2010 10:45 AM

I am hoping thats the case as they have never let me down before , hopefully I can get it worked out before the indoor racing starts around here ......

Bomb-Proof 02.04.2011 07:45 PM

I was running the mm pro, with 17.5 motor....lost 3 BIG races because of laps missed. I lapped the field on most of the races, and it would give me 9th place finishes. I put in a different MMP and problem solved.
