Ohhhhhhh, sorry, I didn't notice...

Well, I can't touch your setups, but I do have a Lightning with the Latest Version VBS & 16mm Racer-X! Seriously, your builds are simply amazing...I would never have the balls to do what you did, but they both turned out awesome!

Looks fantastic.
What body is it you use? |

Got the rear knuckles shaved down so I could install this set of Monsters I got. Installed a Castle motor cooling fan and a Savox servo a while back. Pretty much complete now, only thing left to do is install some limiter straps.

Very nice
Hey Joe that is a very nice looking truck, except for that God awful windshield reflection in the second picture. Scary!!!! ha ha ha ha. No really nice truck you have come up with there. Now lets see some videos of how it works.

 Thanks for the kind words Jerry! I will get some video ASAP! |
Very nice truck you've put together. I really like the overall look.
I have one suggestion, Black Rims to match the chassic and arms. Nice work, Nick |

I installed some limiting straps on the Predator tonight. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...belimiters.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...belimiters.jpg Thanks for stopping by and checking out my build. I appreciate the response, these are fun projects. |
Very nice build, I wouldn't change a thing! Man do I love the RacerX with the swept backs, especially in black. As I said earlier, I love The design of UE (and the other old school Maxx stuff, Dace, Duh etc.) but the monochromatic finish of polished aluminum doesn't do much for me. This on the other hand is awesome, I love how you kept it all old school except for the body and electronics. Will be looking forward to seeing more of the Lightening too!

I am thinking about ditching the wing and current shell and doing a Ironhide Transformer GMC Top Kick. What do you all think? I think it might look pretty cool with the Monster wheels and I looked at it today and the wheelbase fits perfectly. I am a big Transformers fan and already have 2 Decepticon bodies on my Clods. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1315022532 http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...adeprofile.jpg So I think having a Autobot Predator might be kind of cool. Just unsure yet, have not made up my mind.... |
Got the shell done for the Lightning. Our resident painter over at the UE forum did this for me.
This shell turned out very sweet! I saw this scheme on another truck in the UE Gallery and I gave Menardo a couple other ideas and he pulled it off with his talent. Very Nice!!! I will proudly display this on my rig, from one UE member to another.....Thank you! http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...oto2_37228.jpg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...0/6/Photo4.jpg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...0/6/Photo5.jpg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...oto3_68289.jpg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...0/6/Photo9.jpg |
Finally got word that all my small pieces I sent out for anodizing are finally done. :yipi: The dude got behind and I sent him a email this week telling him to just send them back anodized or not because I wanted to start on the Lightning build since I tore it down and packed it away again till I could do a final build. So hopefully have some updates next week on the Lightning. I sent out over 40 small tid bits to be done in black so I did not have all of the little shiny pieces sticking out everywhere.

I started on getting my Lightning built up now that I got all my little black pieces back from the anodizing shop I sent them to. I have been working on it all weekend and got a lot done. Going to work on the shocks and suspension this week.
Building up the diffs : http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...ffassembly.JPG Shimming was not too bad at all, once I got the rear all completed and assembled it was not good so I had to take that one back apart and remove a shim from the pinion shaft. Then it smoothed it right out. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...pydersetup.JPG All done and skids on: http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../6/VBSdone.JPG Had to mess with the G1 transmission a bunch. I don't know if it was the anodizing that added the tolerance to the bearing seat on the one side of the case or what but every time I would bolt it together it would bind up and not roll freely. I replaced all the bearings and had to grind the input gear a bit to free it up. Took forever to get it done right but I finally got it. Mounted the F/R up and the transmission. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...hassisdone.JPG http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...bottomdone.JPG More coming this week. :yipi: |
